31  LinuxMCE / Users / Multiple Outputs on: December 09, 2012, 11:12:26 pm
Is there a way that I can have a device have multiple outputs?  I want to use my directv box hooked up to the living room tv via hdmi and the same box hooked up via component to my master bedroom.  When I try to make the pipes it does not give me an option to add an additional pipe.  If I enable the device to use more than one entertainment area, then I have the option in the additional room but it wants to delete the living room pipe as it already exists.  Is there a work around or what is the procedure to add an additional output to a profile?  I looked in there and could not figure it out.
32  LinuxMCE / Users / Media Storage on: December 02, 2012, 03:38:35 pm
I just added an external usb hard drive that I would like to move my media to.  I have it setup using lmce file structure.  My questions are:

1)  What is the best way to move my media over to the new drive?  I have tried to just copy the files over but I can't transfer them as they are locked up under pluto_username ownership.  Am I able to chown the files or will this mess it up?

2)  If I add more drives, does lmce determine what the best location is to store the new files to?  So that the videos alias is actually a bunch of different drives showing up as one location?

3)  What is the best way to copy videos on to this new drive?  When I go to the share, only the old drive shows up under public.

I've used those several times in installs.  They are audio source amp100's.  They do not have any control,  you use the source to control the volume.  I use a kingman matrix to control volume but your md can also.

I'm not on dianemo.

I had actually tried this before I posted, but it doesn't work. My remote hostname works fine with roaming orb.  I figured there might be some ports that need to be forwarded for this app or something.  I just got a new iPhone 5 also, and the dianemo app sometimes quits responding.  The only way I can get it back is to use the web orbiter and then the app will respond again.

Will this be in qorbiter?

Is it possible to have a momentary scenario?  I'm wanting to control a tilting mount but want to be able to have a forward/back button that only works when I'm pushing it.

You can install the media directors locally and they will run much faster anyways.

If he was willing to pay the amx or crestron route you probably should have went with dianemo.  It could be the switch overloading or your core nic.  Booting off the network takes a lot if bandwidth and with that many at one time any flaw in communication could cause strange effects.

LinuxMCE probably isn't the best choice for you in this instance,  you should look at zoneminder. It's an open source security dvr.

Does tapatalk work with this forum?  I was looking for an app that would make it easier to read while I'm mobile.  iPhone safari sucks for it.

Did you ever get  a chance to look into this or is this something you could tell me how to do?  Its a pretty useful function.  Thanks.

I don't think it will log it until the device is started.  This will only happen once you have restarted the router.  While you are test sending commands, it is not responding to states or other events from the router.  I use the <$""$> format in my drivers.  The only time I have used sendcommand is when I am making ir drivers using a gsd so that I can create ir macros.

The device will become disabled if it can't start.  It sounds like you are missing some parameters on the device page.  Make sure you have all of the com settings correct.
