I just got LMCE working but the admin page wont let me in.  It said my user name and password was my name but it wont except it.  Is there a way to reset it?

when you typed your name did you use a Uppercase first letter? cause it will make it the pass and its case sensitive ?
its going to be the first name you entered as you entered it

it was the changeing to AHCI glad you got it working ^_^ (Advanced Host Controller Interface)

810 im holding off on 1004 for the whole house till its farther along but ill be testing it virtualy when i get this going problem is im useing what was laying around if i bought MD that i knew were compatable wouldnt be so tricky
XD Old? was still in beta a year ago guess goes to show how fast things change, not to mention this kinda scared me away from hooking it to the house.
Alpha :: Considered to be "bleeding edge". Give it a try if you are able to fix problems alongside the developers

ill likely test 1004 on a spare old box, have enough of them laying about ^_^

just out of curiosity could you run it on Ubuntu or is there more different then just KDE vs Gnome

ive looked and cant find the limit for Kubuntu 8.10 but here is a thought try live booting kubuntu and see if the drive shows up that will tell you if it can see it as a second drive.

For the price of a blank cd you can try ubuntu 11.4 and see if the disk comes up and will tell you if its too big for kubuntu to see if thats the case just pop in a small drive and install lmce on it and use the large drive for storage or use that same cd to create 2 (1tb) partitions.
btw did you try making a partition smaller then the full capacity of the HDD?

Installation issues / Very high pings on internal network
« on: February 18, 2012, 09:14:47 pm »
tested internet direct from pc to modem and getting a ping of 16ms but when on the internal network all connected pc and MD have a ping of 900-1300 somtimes as little as 60 its random
even used my laptop outside the internal in sync to run a test to eliminate it being just my isp dowload and upload dont seem to be affected just very hi ping delays. tried swapping out the
net cards on the core. wasnt happing yesterday issue suddenly appeared last night.
where would i start to trouble shoot this issue?

im asuming you want the Big HDD for storage why not use a smaller drive for the boot and keep the big one for the storage better to have a clean OS drive and a seperate storage drive .. had some issues with the ATI onboard HD4250 myself but installing the latest ATI driver fixxed works good now well minus hdmi audio but thats another story XD. id go with TK's advice and try the dvd installer to eliminate some off the possible issues.
