Users / Sunrise event not executing
« on: March 20, 2013, 04:41:13 am »
I have 2 events set up as triggers:
1. sunset = turn lights on
2. sunrise = turn lights off

Sunset event works just fine.  The lights turn on as expected.
However sunrise event nothing happens.  In the edit event screen I can test the command and the test works fine.  I am certain I have the correct device specified and the correct command.
I tried deleting and recreating the event.  I even tried it with 2 identical sunrise events at the same time.  Nothing seems to work.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks..

Users / Is LinuxMCE for me?
« on: November 14, 2011, 02:35:01 pm »
I've been reading up on this forum and wikis for the past month or so.  It all seems very interesting but I would like to know if there is a simpler and better solution for what I need.

I am interested in home automation and security, and sharing media files.  I have no telephone land line, no cable or satellite subscription.

I've been looking at the Mi Casa Verde Vera router and it seems like it works in much the same way as the home automation portion of LinuxMCE.  I wonder if this combined with using a NAS would be enough and not have to mess with LinuxMCE.

I already have a NAS set up and using an Apple TV with XBMC for one TV and Google TV with DLNA on the second to access shared media files.

Installation issues / How to attached MD to back of tv?
« on: October 16, 2011, 08:22:26 am »
My LCD tv is hanging on my wall and I would prefer not to place a MD on a shelf but to attach it to the back.
Is this a valid option and if so how are people doing this?
I plan to buy an Acer Aspire Revo since that seems to be well recommended in the wikis.

Users / Re: How to install just a dedicated core system?

Thanks.  I was confused because all the literature I found on the wiki said you can install either dedicated core, hybrid, or MD.  And most people seemed to recommend a dedicated core setup if possible.

Users / How to install just a dedicated core system?
« on: October 08, 2011, 10:18:37 pm »
I just finished installing Linuxmce and it appears that I inadvertently installed a hybrid when I only meant to install a Core.
I followed the tutorial in the wiki setup section. wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Installation_Guide
but nowhere during the installation process was I asked if I wanted to install a dedicated core or hybrid.
