Installation issues / Unable to startup with AV wizard on MD
« on: November 21, 2011, 06:33:09 pm »
I am trying to load an MD, which loaded fine with a monitor attached.

Now it is in situ, and it has an HDMI connection to an LG flatscreen (I can check the model later).

It runs through loading the OS, but when it comes to booting fully the screen goes black, as if there were no output.

I have entered the command from this page <http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/AVWizard_Step_by_Step#Re-run_the_AVWizard_on_a_MD>, and the MD reloads, but never enters the AV wizard. Do I need to amend the MD from the web interface?

Many thanks!

On my hybrid, the NIC listed as the external NIC (and connected to the external router) is taking a DHCP address in the scope listed on the dcerouter.

The address ranges are different (192.168.1.x for the external lan, 192.168.80.x for the internal), the NICs are connected to the correct LANs etc.

Has anyone seen this before? It was working OK, and then this suddenly appeared...

I've swapped the interfaces around, swapped the patch leads around - all to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Installation issues / R8168.ko issues / Diskless MD issues
« on: September 12, 2011, 08:57:45 pm »
Hi All,

I am trying to install a diskless MD, which has an on board NIC that needs the R8168 driver.

There are loads of forum posts I've seen and followed to get this running, but after a few minutes, I get the error 'line 1: can't open /tmp/net-eth0.conf' and the kernel panic attempting to kill message. '

The mother board is an A74ML-K with a gigabit Realtek NIC.

A lot of the posts on the forum refer to a folder - '/usr/pluto/diskless/', but there is no folder called diskless in /usr/pluto.

I added a new NIC to the mb, but this didn't allow me to boot over the LAN.

I'm close to tears...

Installation issues / AV wizard relaunching after step 1
« on: July 27, 2011, 03:18:55 pm »
Hi All,

Before I post my problem, I just thought I'd say the guys who know what they are doing and spend time on here helping the less savvy are doing a massive favour.

I'm installing 8.10 for a friend, I have installed from DVD on what will be a hybrid, ran updates as per the walk through, and now I am at the AV Wizard stage. When the wizard starts, I select my options in step 1, but then clicking OK or pressing enter causes the wizard to relaunch (it's like a reboot almost, but much quicker and not shutting Kunubtu down).

I have an NVidia 4670 HD graphics card, and an Asus M4A88T motherboard. The onboard graphics on the MB (ATI - boo!) have been disabled.

Is there any other info I need to help diagnose this issue?
