Excellent work on getting this device integrated, I have a single port USB version of this and wondered if its plug and play at this point, or if there is a device template number I can find it under in the webadmin?

Happy to test anything you have, as my system is in tatters at the moment so I'm not worried about breaking anything.

Thanks again.
Matt.

Ah yes, thats the issue all right. I usually stay out of the developers forum section, and strangely a search didn't list that thread. I ran the install from today's snapshot so will keep waiting for another update.

Thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks for the info, had no joy with the commands you suggested, it just hung when rebooting. I have just installed from todays snapshot and managed to get a semi working system again. Have you altered anything that would stop my dhcp server from running? It hasn't worked with either the internet install or the snapshot install. Worked fine on my previous install of 1004, thats why I ask.
Thanks.

Installation issues / Re: AV Wizard does not run - 10.04
« on: April 05, 2012, 10:42:49 am »
Hi, did you have any luck resolving this??

I have just installed a clean 1004 system with Linuxmce over the top using the internet installation method.  I can't run the AVWizard, and there are no logs for it either. It hasn't run automatically, and won't run even after typing the rebootwithavwizard command.

Just noticed that when loading, a message tells me that there is no Xorg.conf file, so its loading Nvidia drivers.....etc.
What is happening to my Xorg.conf file? I tried updating to the latest Nvidia driver version, then checking to see if the xorg.conf file is present. It is, so why should it be gone the next time the machine reboots?

Anybody else having problems, or have suggestions?

Matt

Am having problems with the new installer.  I've just wiped my system because it failed to boot after an update so I installed a fresh version of 1004, followed the wiki to download the internet install and ran it.
Everything seems to install correctly, and the system reboots itself. Then I end up back on the KDE desktop. Linuxmce has not started. If I view TTY7 I see the usual startup info, and the last item is
"Starting LinuxMCE launch manager.....OK"
Thats it.
So is it worth downloading and burning the latest snapshot, or will this just load the same files as the internet install??
I've tried this 3 times, incase something went wrong with either the ubuntu install, or the linuxmce install, each time resulting in the same thing.
was working fine on 1004 for a good 6 months, no hardware changes or anything.
Suggestions??
Matt.

By forcing a reboot LinuxMCE finally started properly, however I can't run the AVWizard.  I shall continue this in another thread with the same issues.

Wow, thanks Seth, great info there, and also thanks for tidying up my wiki table.  I promise to keep it neat!  I was expecting people to just post in here the info, but thats even better.

Lets hope it inspires more folks to share their own info.

Matt.

Hi Joakim,

you can find all this information from the KDE desktop by checking:-
Applications --> Settings --> NVidia X Server Settings

This application will tell you your graphics card and current driver version.

Alternatively if you type the following from a terminal it will tell you your Nvidia driver version:-

sudo grep -i "x driver" /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Regarding the VDPAU, feel free to add any info you want, and I will include it in the wiki. I am however not really that clued up on hardware acceleration, so can't really comment on how it can be used by others.

Just a thought...

I was unable to play video files on my MD that were ripped on the CORE.  They all played fine on the core without having to install anything extra.  To get them working on the MD I had to install LIBDVDCSS and LIBDVDREAD3.  Would it be possible to make this happen automatically when the create_diskless runs?  (Took me a while to find the libdvdread3 info on a long lost thread on here!)

Good idea Posde, but I'm sure there are a lot of people with graphics cards that aren't listed in the wiki at the moment. I was thinking of something along the lines of Bongo's capture cards list.

Its a moot point at the moment anyway, as nobody's given me anything to work with yet!  Come on guys, it'll take you a minute to jot down your graphics card and driver version, could save people like myself a lot of bother when building a new system, or replacing/upgrading cards.

Hi all, I've started a new page in the wiki to document as many graphics cards as I can that are working, specifically regarding HDMI audio.  I would be grateful if you could update this post with your details, specifically:-

GRAPHICS CARD          LMCE VERSION       GRAPHICS CARD DRIVER VERSION       HDMI AUDIO WORKING YES/NO

the wiki page is:-

Thanks.

Marketplace / Re: Dianemo 10.10 Systems from CHT - Now Shipping World Wide!
« on: November 03, 2011, 09:44:11 pm »
Hi Andrew, I'm still working my way through issues with LMCE 10.04, but am very tempted to just switch over to Dianemo S10.10.  Does your system support analogue tuners in a TV card?  I have a hauppauge 2200 which has dual tuners, both analogue and digital.  Most of the channels here in Poland are still analogue, and whilst I have my UK Sky tv integrated with a HDPVR, the wife still watches the Polish channels. If we could integrate that into the system I'd be sold on the Dianemo solution.

One other question I have, regarding the Black Knight IP cameras.  I notice in your demo videos on the website that you have the white ones, are these a straight forward inclusion in Dianemo? LMCE forces me to use motion to integrate them, and in 10.04 its not working ATM.
Thanks.

A Thousand blessings on you Daniel, worked a treat and has reduced the pressure from SWMBO somewhat.  ;)

Back to the 1001 other things to nitpick.

Found another log, after enabling log level 107 I have a message in the 107_LIRC_DCE.log that says "There are no remote controls --LIRC will be dormant"

followed by "Child device 108 is disabled"

Mean anything to anyone??

Installation issues / MCE USB2 remote not working on MD (10.04)
« on: October 31, 2011, 10:47:42 pm »
I am persevering with my 10.04 install, but the biggest issue at the moment is the lack of the windows MCE usb2 remote functionality on my MD.  SWMBO is getting the hump now, as it works fine with my 8.10 install, but I'm keen to push forward with the 10.04 kernel so its now become urgent in our house!  I have checked the logs, and it appears that the device 107 is spawned correctly, but it doesn't actually respond to any button presses at all.  Is there another place I can check to see if the presses are actually being received?  If I unplug the device and re-plug it, LMCE shows the window to say its re-enabling the MCE_USB2 device.....installing software etc. then shows installing software_done.  Still nothing.  Numerous reboots, or reloading router etc doesn't seem to have any effect.  I tried removing the device from the webadmin, and then plugging it in again.  Same thing, it appears automatically, loads the software etc, but doesn't work. Booting back into 8.10 sees it working fine, so hardware is OK.

Anyone else have this problem, or suggest a resolution?

Cheers.
Matt.

Installation issues / Re: HDMI audio...(again!)

@kyfalcon

My MD is a Zotac Ion, and that works with HDMI audio without an issue, always has.  Its the New(ish) GT430 card in the core thats giving me the headache.  I'm really hoping that somebody who knows the system can see why the AVWizard won't run with the newer Nvidia driver isntalled.  Something about API Kernel mismatch, but all the info from google is based on standard Linux installations, and this doesn't apply with LMCE, so I'm a bit stuck at the moment.

@Murdock
I've tried a few suggestions that helped others out in the links you posted previously, no luck so far but I'm not giving up!!  Must be a basic setting somewhere, but I'm patiently waiting for your experiments to provide the answer, as my tinkering hasn't yielded results.
