Users / Re: Canonical will not support Kubuntu after 12.04

It does not affect us, we are not tied to kubuntu.

That is exactly what the orbiter lets you do, and if you search Qorbiter on youtube you can cool new ways to browse media in some of the videos.

yep they are finally in production, and yes it looks like the only thing that they could run it Qorbiter, if it were build for ARM. I hope to look into building an ARM MD, but we will see.

thats correct because they don't support the older version of ARM, but if a full MD cant be built i know orbiter can be compiled for arm

i have had kubuntu CD's go bad on me before, after several installations so its worth a shot burning a new one on the slowest speed

I have been following the raspberry pi project lately (link below), and i will be buying a couple of them for other projects but i wondered how difficult would it be to use it as an MD. The problem with using it as an MD is the fact that its ARM based, and at that its ARMv6 based so no Ubuntu :( But, how difficult would it be getting a MeeGo or Debian MD dunning? A $35 MD is quite intriguing.

Users / Re: Mini PC / clam shell as MD?

i run my laptop in clam shell mode sometime and the only thing i would warn you about is heat because some computers pull in air from the keyboard and in clam shell mode it cant do this.

you should not have to setup shared folders, if the Guest Extensions are installed you should have USB 2.0 support so you can mount the drives in VirtualBox but then they cannot be mounted in the host OS also.
