So far a bit of a logistic problem for the braai. DragonK, you're in the Cape if I recall, Jamo in Natal, me in Northwest.

Eish!

Anybody have any idea of how to set up a virtual Braai Huh

OK, working now Grin

So big thank you to l3mce.

Not to sure how or when I did the right thing that started it working. Lots of updates, installed the medibuntu keyring, added medibuntu to sources.list, left the repo's alone as 0810 RC's repo's are different from the wiki one, RC looks like a later version. Then suddenly at another attempt at installing the packages it started downloading the packages and we were sweet.

Curios, though, the sources.list on my md and the sources.list on the Core are now different (medibuntu) but the Core has always been able to play DVD's.

A question: during the installation of w32codecs I got a " Suggested packages: gstreamer 0.10-pitfdll"
Should I install this?

Thanks again l3mce

Much appreciated

Running 0810 RC. Ran diskless setup and plugged Zbox in. Installed perfectly and ran after a reboot of the md. However when I tried to play DVD’s off the core I get a message on the md’s screen stating that libdvdcss is required.

Ssh into the md and running “sudo apt-get install lidvdcss wcodecs32” gives me this error:

“Package libdvdcss is not available but is referred to by another package
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is
Only available from another source
E: package libdvdcss has no installation candidate”  Huh

Can somebody please tell me if I’m doing something stupid/wrong or how to sort this out.

Please keep in mind that I’m not a linux expert.

Thanks

Mine comes on after a power spike OK, but how do I get it to boot through the password? Do I have to disable the password request request on bootup? How? Huh

Thanks

I'm using mythtified's sources.list. Thanks mythtified.

Running sudo apt-get update I get one error:

GPG error: http://old-releases.ubuntu.com intrepid Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG 40976EAF437D05B5 Ubuntu Archive Automatic Signing Key <ftpmaster@ubuntu.com

Can anybody help? Keep in mind that I'm a Linux wannabe so it could be something very simple or stupid.

Thanks Andrew

That's fantastic, well done to you and Foxi352!

So I can use the Touch Orbiter to start playing a movie from the core via the md. Should I want to adjust settings like Dolby or 5ch stereo on my AVR I just grab the AVR's remote.?

Thanks

Dries

Hi
Noobie here who hasn't built his md's yet because he is still trying to figure out how it can all fit together. Am I understanding it correctly? If I buy an Apple something eg. Ipad this can be used as a mobile orbiter on any of the md's, I don't have to worry about usb-uirt's, remotes, etc anymore.?

Here's hoping!

Thanks

YEEEEHAAAAH!!!

Well, got a Inno3D Nvidia 240 GeForce GT card today, installed, booted = same x failed to start
Back to googling the Wiki & the forum & came across hitting shift after the descending beeps.
Booted up again hit shift after the descending beeps and LOL , the penguin pops up, did the settings, & it started installing stuff, firefox, etc.
Still waiting for it to finish - last bit I saw was something about the Orbiter, ah Sarah has just popped up
Excuse me
