I asked the rEFIt-guys to add PXE boot option to rEFIt, which enables every USB-stick with rEFIt installed on to boot from lan.

lets see what happens ....

Hey,

i have my own MacMini 2010 and access to different Macs.
I cant boot into Live from DVD anymore.
DVD is detected and boots up but is stuck while loading "radvd" ....

No idea whats going on.

But if you have a Mac it would be great to hear your experience using the DVD.

Thanks.

### EDIT: SORRY TO EARLY ... as usual, after connecting several times it stopped working again ....

hey......

here is my config:

http://dokuwiki.knallimall.org/de/linuxmce_ipsec_working

pw44, "dead peer connection" was the key!!! thx a lot....
you should click on the "update" button in network settings, i guess  to update the network config. Make also sure you updated linuxMCE to the most recent version coz' sambuca added a few changes regarding config using lmce-admin done by robwoodward75.

hope this helps!

pw44, vpn on my core is working as long as the dynamic ip gets updated.... :-/

it still needs some testing, i had some trouble connecting a second time ...
i got disconnected....

i'll do some more tests. For me its working, but its not reliable....
I will do further tests! ... This may take its time.

just a hint!
i'm not sure if its really true, but i read that ipsec needs ICMP requests.
ICMP requests must be enabled. Afaik you can ping local but not the external.

Hope this helps....

Do the images I produce have to be in PSD format? And I assume you need transparent background?

PSD is fine.
Yep, i need a transparent background.

Would be great to stay with the "steam punk style" ... but i guess this is even more time-consuming.
here are all my files i used: http://cloud.knallimall.org/public.php?service=files&dir=%2Fadmin%2Ffiles%2FLMCE-Skin-redpad

and sorry, still need to list the required images :-/

Hey ...

I'm sorry to say I left LinuxMCE a few months back for 1 reason, LiveTV support is just horrendous. I need something that works when it comes to LiveTV and it isn't LinuxMCE. If the wife isn't happy, then I am not allowed to play with my toys.

i agree .....
I can provide a detailed report about MythTV on LMCE, if anyone nows how to implement or just make it work rock solid i'm glad to help.

As mentioned in a ealier post: I want MythTV to work rock solid! For me the most annoying thing. Radomly throwing errors like "irrecoverable recorder error", "Frame buffering something failed" or quit unexpected while switch between channels.

imho, i think LMCE Media stuff should work ootb. I dont talk about configuration, thats another story ;-)

58  LinuxMCE / Developers / lmce-admin redesign ? on: November 09, 2012, 10:04:49 pm
Hey ...

i just wanted to start a discussion about about the current state of lmce-admin.
i think it does a good job, but the interface looks old and web admin could be more fancy in the GUI point of view ...

posde pointed out that the architecture is great.

What i can do:
- jquery (javascript)
- css
- html ... a little php
- .... learn learn learn ....

The goal is to improve the interface of lmce-admin and give it better wizards with a more "human" description.
After installing, lmce-admin imo is the next step to simplify things, and make configuration a lot easier.

This does not mean i will/can do it... ;-)

cheers,
ochorocho

Hey...

there is still a lot of things to learn and explore for me ... and i'm still a LinuxMCE trainee i guess ;-)
I like the way it works and the features it offers. To me, the install process has never been as easy as today .... great job!

What it does for me:
- LiveTV
- play audio & video
- watch pictures
- door camera (EasyN IP Camera)
- Airprint
- Airplay
- recording TV shows
- Radio

What i want to have or improve:
- a stable running system.
- a rock solid GUI for qOrbiter. My Mom should be able to understand and play with it in minutes.... Don't care about George W.
- I want MythTV to work rock solid! For me the most annoying thing. Radomly throwing errors like "irrecoverable recorder error", "Frame buffering something failed" or quit unexpected while switch between channels.
- Improve the lmce-admin. Currently i had no time to dig in deeper how lmce-admin is done, but i guess it needs to be completely rewritten to get a better user experience.   Undecided
- my flatmate to be a more helpful in reporting issues.  Grin
- VPN

I saw so many improvements for me over the past year. I'm really looking forward to the next year(s) ...

cheers,
ochorocho - almost addicted

purps, sounds good  .... :-)

I'll try to write a list of needed Buttons and their sizes.
I can offer my current PSD file for download if you want.

What else do you need?

Thanks.
