181  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Bluray Ripping on: May 01, 2011, 08:48:17 pm
Thanks Thom.   Will ripping from MakeMKV (then transfer over the largest title) work as a solution?  I may just have to try!

Gentlemen (and/or Ladies) Grin

I got myself a BD-ROM (its a samsung) that I got RPC-1 firmware from RPC1.org (I am assuming it is RPC-1 firmware).   When I install a bluray disk, the 'do you wish to rip' message appears and I acknowledge with yes.   Immediately the rip fails (even a regular DVD will fail after about 15 to 20 percent).

There is little information on LMCE Bluray ripping... is there any extra software I need to load?   if so, what?

I am not even sure where disc ripping is logged to..  the disk device (51)  is here

Glad I could help... sometimes things get 'lost in translation'  here in the forums... after reading a few posts, I knew I should chip in.

Good luck.

I have a 2-wire DSL router as well.. it has built-in wireless, and 4 lan ports and USB port on the rear.   This device provides DHCP for a 'normal' home setup.   I have my Core connected to one of the ethernet jacks in the back...   I then have another lan card in my core that is connected to a 1Gb ethernet switch that my Media Directors are connected to.     This is the preferred setup for a LMCE home network.   Note though that I do have another PC that I use that is also connected directly to the 2-wire router.. I dont want this PC to be part of the home network because it is my 'backdoor' to the internet if i am 'tinkering' with my core PC.

yup...  I had the same situation... I had two internal hard drives for data.. only the drive links were shown, but if you go into the links, whatever media was on them showed up...

I guess it is a 'feature' of the 'sort by filename'  Undecided

To the LMCE developers:

Trac Ticket #1039 (new feature_request) submitted today.  sqlCVS-Diff completed as well (I hope...it said it completed successfully)

Will do Sir!

it may not be right away as I wish to test it further.

just magic!!!!

however, this whole thing about going directly to the STB instead of using the Directv.pl script didnt resolve the issue that has been bugging me...

When I changed channel, my HDPVR would cycle while the channel changed... if I were changing from an HD channel to a SD channel, it would fault and either crash Myth or Myth would display an error and dump me to its menu.

If I changed my STB directly with the STB remote, the channel changed perfectly...

SO...  I guess somehow Myth is not set up right, or this is a normal operation of the HDPVR during channel change.

any input?

another silly question...

is your main tv connected to the core as well?   or on a diskless Media Director?

if the latter, did you also install libdvdcss2 on that as well?
