106  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: 1080P UI 1024 video mode? on: February 16, 2012, 04:08:40 am
yes LMCE does support greater than 1024x768 thru vga...    you may try using a lower resolution at first.. just to make sure everything is working okay....  and then work your way up to a higher resolution either by running the "RebootWithAVWizard.sh" script found in /usr/pluto/bin,   or launch the a/v setup from the advanced screen... or modify xorg.conf and the admin media director settings manually.

I think if you can get into the web administration, go to the media directors section, and you can set the resolution in the "Video Settings" and "TV Standards" fields.

For my Core/Hybrid, the Video Settings is 1280 1024/60 and the TV Standards is 1280x1024.

That may help you.

doesnt that box also have component out?    If so, another option is the Hauppauge HD-PVR   I use one with a DirecTV sat box.

I created a template to control the DirecTV sat boxes via RS232 (usb port on sat box and rs232 on pc).    You just need to know the command codes to be sent, then create the template.

Thats what I feared.   Gonna see if there is an adjustment in my receiver.

Thanks

Unfortunately, adjusting alsamixer has no affect on the S/PDIF output (sometimes I dont think too hard as it cant be adjusted).

For some reason, just recently the S/PDIF signal from my MD to my receiver is 'clipping' my receiver, but only at 'loud' points in the audio stream.    I havent had this problem until the last month or so.  It only occurs with some movies (dvd rips) and sometimes in mythtv.

Is there an 'internal' audio level for the media players that can be adjusted?

Thanks l3mce...

I was wondering if the avwizard was setting the alsa volume (as opposed to storing a value in a db table somewhere)

Is there a way to change the volume level set during the AV Wizard without re-running the AV wizard... the default is 80, however it affecting my receiver sometimes in playback of movies.

Thanks,
Dennis

the particular .deb file is for lucid (10.04).  I didnt see any files on that site for maverick (8.10).

You'd have to gather up all the dependencies and install them as well... and yes I found it tough!

if running an nVidia card, try upgrading to the latest driver from nVidia web site.

Ive not had any issue with mythtv audio, but some issue with video (even movies) but the latest driver fixed it.
