LinuxMCE / Users / Re: IR trans

Hi David, As posde once pointed out to me, make sure that the DT you want to make, is created, installed and assigned to the room where the IR-trans is (or in my case the USBUIRT) before you start learning ir-codes. You can finish creating the DT and installing it and then, at a later time, fill in the ir-codes. Another tip: www.remotecentral.com where you can find all sorts of ir-codes, discrete and normal once. br, Raymond

it turns out that when you add a light to a room with room-type 'outside area', that light gets automatically added to LMCE's auto generated sunset/sunrise events. The light gets the on command at sunset and the off command at sunrise.
a big thanks to every one who helped, especially hari, tschak, possy and sambuca.

hi foogee, Can you have LMCE 1004 send out email as a response to a event (sensor tripped, alarm breach, etc) Because i can't seem to find it in the event pull-down menu.
Also what did you change the from into, because using a known email address gives me sometimes a email, but sometimes not? Its a bit confusing to me...
Br, Raymond

LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Z-Wave weirdness [SOLVED]
|
on: August 12, 2012, 08:55:30 pm

Hi All, Recently i upgraded from 8.10 to 10.04. On 8.10 i had z-wave working perfectly. Right before going to 10.04 i added a Aeon-Labs door/window sensor which worked also perfectly. Now on 10.04 i re-added my "respond to event" event (sunset) to control a light (this worked great under 8.10) But now every time when the event gets fired, another light also gets turned on. Its always the same combo. I can turn both these lights on and of individually with a orbiter. the zwave gear used in above case: - Aeon-Labs zwave controller: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Aeon_Labs_Z-Wave_Interface- duwi inwall switch on/off - duwi dimmer: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Düwi_ZW_ZDAN_300_DimmerI also tried deleting the "respond to event" event ad re-adding it but without any luck. In the Event Plug-in log i can see that the 2 wave-modules get a "on" command, but thats not what i specified in the "respond to event" event. Any pointers are welcome. Br, Raymond

LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: missing cd-rips after upgrade to 1004 [SOLVED]
|

After more investigation, with big help from l3mce (thanks again), i can safely draw the conclusion that it was me who has screwed things up. What probably happened is that i ripped my cd's to the OS-Drive instead of the media drive. LMCE doesn't delete files I swapped my old OS-drive for a new one, so thats why they are not there anymore Thanks for al your replies and help. Look on the bright side: hopefully someone can learn from this, especially from the kick-ass commands from l3mce. br, Raymond

Hi l3mce, Your command didn't return anything on my system I guess something else must have happened. I am glad to hear though that LMCE CAN'T delete files on his own, i thought i might have found a bug, but i am glad i didn't. br, Raymond
