hi foogee,
Can you have LMCE 1004 send out email as a response to a event (sensor tripped, alarm breach, etc)
Because i can't seem to find it in the event pull-down menu.

Also what did you change the from into, because using a known email address gives me sometimes a email, but sometimes not?
Its a bit confusing to me...

Installation issues / Z-Wave weirdness [SOLVED]
« on: August 12, 2012, 09:55:30 pm »
Hi All,

Recently i upgraded from 8.10 to 10.04.
On 8.10 i had z-wave working perfectly.
Right before going to 10.04 i added a Aeon-Labs door/window sensor which worked also perfectly.

Now on 10.04 i re-added my "respond to event" event (sunset) to control a light (this worked great under 8.10)
But now every time when the event gets fired, another light also gets turned on.
Its always the same combo.

I can turn both these lights on and of individually with a orbiter.

the zwave gear used in above case:
- Aeon-Labs zwave controller: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Aeon_Labs_Z-Wave_Interface
- duwi inwall switch on/off
- duwi dimmer: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Düwi_ZW_ZDAN_300_Dimmer

I also tried deleting the "respond to event" event ad re-adding it but without any luck.

In the Event Plug-in log i can see that the 2 wave-modules get a "on" command, but thats not what i specified in the "respond to event" event.

Any pointers are welcome.

Raymond

Installation issues / Re: missing cd-rips after upgrade to 1004 [SOLVED]
« on: August 10, 2012, 12:57:05 pm »
After more investigation, with big help from l3mce (thanks again), i can safely draw the conclusion that it was me who has screwed things up. What probably happened is that i ripped my cd's to the OS-Drive instead of the media drive.
LMCE doesn't delete files :)
I swapped my old OS-drive for a new one, so thats why they are not there anymore :)

Thanks for al your replies and help.

Look on the bright side: hopefully someone can learn from this, especially from the kick-ass commands from l3mce.

br,
Raymond

Hi l3mce,

Your command didn't return anything on my system :(
I guess something else must have happened.
I am glad to hear though that LMCE CAN'T delete files on his own, i thought i might have found a bug, but i am glad i didn't.

JaseP, they were all in public and i can navigate to them via /mnt/device/##/public/data/audio (as per suggestion by l3mce)
In there, there are only 2 albums that show.
My other albums are not in there anymore.

Could they be over-written? by what, i only added the drive to my install as discribed above.

Raymond

Installation issues / missing cd-rips after upgrade to 1004 [SOLVED]
« on: August 06, 2012, 11:52:42 am »
Hi all,

Recently i upgraded my core from 810 to 1004.
I use a separate drive for the system and for media (both on 810 and 1004)
After installing LMCE on the system-drive, i plugged in my 2TB internal-media-drive (which has been initially formatted in lmce-structure under 810)

1004 detected the drive as a 1.8TB drive and i selected the 'use LMCE structure' option again.
After LMCE added the drive, it seems that all my dvd-rips and tv-recordings show (to much to count for them all :) )
But out of my approximately 20 cd-rips, i only see 2 of them back on my Orbiter.
I did all of the ripping with LMCE.

Does anybody perhaps have a clue in were to look or if this is a bug?

thanks,
br,
Raymond

Hi Armor Gnome,

Great job so far, i did the BlueCrystal skin (with help ;) thanks again Thom and Karel)
Did you already set a database administration tool up? (i use MySQL Workbench)
In there you can find a table under the main tree that is called 'icon'
In there you can see the column 'MainFileName' which shows you the icon's name and path.
Also a column 'Description' which basically shows you what it does

If you want a specific icon to show on the orbiter, you must make a icon for it and save it in the path and with the name shown in the column 'MainFileName'

If you have any questions just ask, i am glad to help

Raymond

Ok i created a new proxy-orbiter as per:
http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Web_Orbiter_2.0
and entered the top level Device Info #xxx as i did for my other proxy orbiters.
but sadly, on my iOS 3.1.3 iPhone, it still doesn't work.

i hope you have some ideas left :)
