Hello,
now i am getting it on.

For my first project i want to control a RCM250 Enocean Receiver using my PTM200 (already supported) rocker switch.
I already read parts of the "Programmer's Guide" and i think i should start reading the code of other implementations like Z-Wave.
But how to know which source-files belong to template 1754 ?

Or does anybody have other suggestions on how to start?

sorry i just killed my Core and i am not able to boot anymore
As i am away for the weekend i will try to fix this on Monday.

But i am very interrested in doing things like this myself.
So implementing new Hardware which already is supported in Linux.
Maybe you can tell me how to do this? Which docs do i have to read? And where to start?
I already had a look at the the "Programmer's Guide" but i think thats a bit too much?!
If you are going to implement a new Enocean receiver for example it would be great if you can write down all the steps. That doesn't need to be very pretty and i can do all the cosmetic work for you if you want to.

I just had to google what a polymath is but that really sounds interesting

I'm no programmer but i am going to step into it.
First of all i need to setup an interim solution as my flat has no Switches at the moment so i need something to control all the lights, blends and the radiator. After that is done i will start to documenting, i will do some video-tutorials and i will also begin to implement new features like 1-Wire.
Primary i am doing all the documentation for me but i will of course make them available to everyone.

@Klovell: You should not write passwords in your documentation. They have to reside in a password-safe and/or your brain.

Crab: Enocean is really a great technology and as soon as it's fully integrated in LinuxMCE it's the first choice. At least for me
Z-Wave is a good product too and it's getting more popular every day but i don't want to swap batteries...

Just one thing you should think of: Whats if your core crashes and there is an emergency in your home. I am sure you don't want to tell the medic that you first have to fix your server. So in my opinion every room should have a rocker switch which directly controls one light. You can also integrate those lights into LinuxMCE or whatever but that has to work independent as well.

Sure i can provide you with ssh access to my Core.
But if you need me to press the "Learn"-Button on the actor we need to schedule a Timeframe.
I will try to configure my Firewall and NAT-Router tomorrow and after that i will send you the Login using PM.

i am using Enocean and wanted to use LinuxMCE.
There is simply NO documentation on how to implement Enocean in LinuxMCE. Only for the USB-Gateway and the rocker switches.
Beside that there is no support in this or other forums.

To summaries: I am going on using IPSymcon for my home as a quick solution. Thats a piece of Windows-Software which is very easy to use and supports nearly everything you can connect to a PC in any way (IR, RS232, USB, LAN, ...).

The other option is to use Z-Wave which should be supported very well within LinuxMCE. Beside that it's much cheaper than Enocean.
But it also has disadvantages like batteries for example.

As soon as my IPSymcon environment is set up i am out of pressure and will start learning, developing and documenting for LinuxMCE.
My first goal is to fully implement Enocean and 1-Wire. As i have a lot of that stuff here all the requirements are fullfilled.

Kooma is totally right. A short How-To to create new Templates would be very usefull.

Is there really nobody who is using Enocean?

I already created the devices for my USB-Gateway and i connected one rocker switch. That seems to work.
But know i don't know how to control an actor. Which template do i have to use? Is there a template? And what information do i need to send to the Actor?

this is my Setup:

- NAS running Opensolaris on an Atom 330 and has 4 x 1,5TB drives. Here i setup all the CIFS-Shares, Exports or iSCSI-LUNs as needed.
- One Core-Server
- And one ESXi

I am also going to use 1-Wire but i think i'll connect it to the Core. But this has to wait until my flat has been finished and then i will have enough time for that.

Hey guys, i am trying to use LinucMCE at the moment and have a lot of difficultys. Although i am missing some things.
Now i am reading the wiki day after day but it's hard to find all the needed informations and i have no idea were to start programming.

So if you can give me some hints for docs that would be great!
I want to know which software is in use (DB for example) and how to implement own features for automation.
How to "feed" the DB and how to react on certain events?

nite_man, on that wiki-page you can find on how to setup the switches. But how to create actors?
Do they need to be a child of the TCM120 or the Switch? What Device Template do i need to use? And how to send a Enocean Signal to add this to the actor?
