It would run on all three mentioned platforms without compiling and stuff.

Indeed ethernet control would be nice but does any of the available TVs support that?
From my research so far there is no Samsung with RS232.
LG is at the moment the most interessting for me but Pana is also nice but they are much more expensive.

Does Sharp still sell TVs? Didn't see them in Germany for a looooong time

There are some nice Samsung TVs out there but i don't know if they have RS-232. Anyway, i would prefer having a USB-Port so that i don't need an additional RS232-USB-Converter.
I'll check whats available at my favourite store and report back but i think it'll be a Samsung, Pana or LG.

it's time for a new TV and therefore i need your help.
I know we have lots of threats about that but i'm looking for something like 50" and 3D.
Is there a general rule i can follow like if it does upnp we will be able to control it (as soon as upnp is available in lmce).
Or does anybody have any recommendations?

i like LinuxMCE very much but i'm wondering if it's able to keep up with Dianemo.
For example if we're talking about upnp and stuff like this.

As far as i understood there is a close relationship but i would also be interessted where the big differences are between Dianemo 8.10 and LinuxMCE 8.10 or when it will be available 10.10.

Microsoft tools maybe usefull to someone but i simply don't like them.
Why should i pay for software if i can get another one for free. And all the opensource toold are most of the time even better!
I don't like C# that much because it's based on closed source libs and is not portable to other OSes.
Thats why i've started to lean C++.

omg... Why is all this Z-Wave stuff written in Visual C?
That doesn't really fit as this is an Opensource Linux distro and the modules are written using a closed source Windows tool.
