Users / SabNZBD - Couch Potato - SickBeard
« on: May 06, 2014, 03:43:23 am »
I've been playing around with SabNZBD, Couch Potato and SickBeard. I like what I can do with them. Has there been any integration into LMCE? I was thinking that one could benefit from a better naming convention so that the "recordings" show up a little nicer in the video menu.

Thank you,

I know that people have been super busy with work but I wanted to make sure I'm looking in the right places for updates. The last I saw was April 2nd and I couldn't get any of the "recent" versions to work. Is that the expected result? If so I'll be patient and will gladly test out when new versions come.

Thank you,

Has there been any more thought to improving MythTV functionality in LMCE? Recording and playing back content is a primary need for me. I could just go back to a dedicated MythTV system and ditch LMCE, but I really, really don't want to do that. LMCE is much more complete of a solution and the group of supporters is super friendly. I'm not a developer but will help out in any way that I can. Most of the challenges that I'm facing now a pretty simple and might really be user error. For example:
  • There doesn't seem to be an option to sort by show by air date (kind of a big deal if you want to watch recordings in order)
  • Deleting recordings doesn't seem to work 100% (I chose delete but they still show in my orbiters)
  • Thumbnails are not showing with recorded videos (Might be an issue related just to me)
  • Live TV option isn't well integrated (or anything playing through the MythTV interface for that matter)

Thanks,
B34N

I will work with anyone that wishes to help improve the MythTV experience in LMCE to integrate their work.  I'm sure that tschak would do the same.  But atm I don't think any of the devs are using MythTV, so it will fall to those that are using it to work to improve that experience.

I can try to help test. If any devs can make use of a tuner card, I have one or two spare ones that I'll donate. I need cable card for my provider.

What am I doing wrong? I had QOrbiter Android mostly working on my Nexus 7 and GS2, but after upgrading to more recent version I can't even get it to finish starting up on my devices. I didn't choose any of the failed versions. I tried to revert back to an older version and I could get it to start on my Nexus 7, it was missing controls for video playback.

Dopey,

As a user, I would love to see better integration with MythTV. I've been working to integrate LMCE for a few years and have not gotten it to where I would like it. The biggest thing I'm missing is a fully functioning MythTV offering. I like the LMCE interface but find it difficult to view recorded shows in chronological order and then easily delete them after watching. I will submit that it's probably my lack of expertise is why I haven't yet gotten a LMCE system doing what I want which is not much more than MythTV plus Z-wave controls. While I've been close a few times to moving to another solutions, I would prefer to use LMCE and then expand to it's other features such as security and real home automation...not just turning lights off and on using timers.

I ran into something similar yesterday - can you check the file permissions of the LinuxMCE directory under SDCard, where the config file is stored if it is
Code: [Select]
d--------- LinuxMCE then qOrbiter cannot access the xml config file.

-Coley.

I reverted back to the previous version so I could watch some videos last night. I'll try the newer version if I can tonight when I get home from work. My LinuxMCEconfig.mxl in on my phone's home directory and not the SD card. How do I check its permissions? When I go to details it just shows size and last modified date.

BTW: I had the same problem with my nexus 7 v 1.0

I Installed the March 6th on my SGS2 and I can't connect. I get an error "Im Sorry I coudlnt connect to a LinuxMCE Server at  Please ensure you can reach your core. I will continue trying.
http://lmce-admin/skins/android/splash/Splash.gml:-1 Host not Found"

I updated the skins using " sudo svn up /var/www/lmce-admin/skins/android"

Can I just revert back to an older version that works?

I submitted the ticket. Changing the backend server from 127.0.0.1 to 192.168.80.1 worked for the MythTV front end on my Android device but not for the MD. I'll keep testing to see if I can determine the reason.

MythTV runs nicely on the core but the backend server cannot be found by the frontend on my MD. I also noted that the backend server cannot be found by the MythTV frontend on my android device. I was wondering if anyone else is there anyone using MythTV in 12.04 and able to connect to the backend from a device other than the core.

The ticket has been created. I wasn't sure if it was a problem with 12.04 or just with my install.

I used Myth outside of LMCE and it worked very well for me. I'm now working on using Myth inside 12.04 and I'm running into a few glitches.

I'm still trying to figure this out. How does LMCE grab the thumbnails for MythTV recordings? I see the recording information but just no thumbnail or preview images.

I'm running the Nexus 7 on build 118 and it seems that the video screen is not working/there. I am current with the SVN update. Anyone else having this issue?

Well, 2.2 is going to be a problem. Minimum support for QOrbiter is 2.3. There is a non opengl build for older devices, but its not been tested.

Looks like I'll be upgrading then. 2.2 is the highest official version supported. Is there anything that I should look out for when doing a custom build? It looks like CyanogenMod is a popular choice.
