19  LinuxMCE / Users / How to replace a Core on: February 18, 2011, 12:07:08 pm
Question for the experts
I have an existing Core/Hybrid with a software RAID and I am taking Thom C's advice and others of using a server board and building a new Core/Hybrid then moving to an external NAS rather than a software RAID. Question is after I build the new Core and set the IP address to the addresses I was using on the old core, then just change the IP address of the old core to be able to move the content from the software RAID to the external NAS before converting the old core/hybrid to another external NAS

Thanks

20  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Video not playing on MD on: February 11, 2011, 10:37:38 pm
Hey Crisis90
Glad to see you nearly have this Foxconn running mine is still sitting on the floor until 1004 goes beta, limited success with this as a MD, after all the stuffing around to get the NIC to be recognised mine would playback everything but it would freeze the image or sound whilst playing back intermittently.

Currently I have an old snapshot saved as an image and I use that, I have given up trying to get new snapshots as it's frustrating to spend all that time only to find out something else has been screwed, I personally love the ability and flexibility of LMCE I just get frustrated of doing updates or new installs only to find out more things are broken. I have just spent 3 days trying to get an Axis IP camera working following the wiki's and discussing on the IRC and now it is sitting on the floor as well....as per everybodys reconmendations now swapping over to Panasonic Cameras.

I hope you can get the Foxconn box working as it is perfect for going on the back of my plasma's, I just had so much trouble getting the NIC to be recognised even after following the wikis and IRC help it was just a complete pain, I hope this NIC will be included in 1004

Cheers

28  LinuxMCE / Users / Intercom and making outside calls not working on: February 06, 2011, 03:25:44 am
Currently I have a Linksys PAP2 with a POT's standard phone connected to it with a VOIP account and it is connected to Linuxmce and I can only make outside calls from the phone connected to the PAP2, the SIP account is registered in webadmin but I cant make calls from MD's or even do intercom calls between MD's. I have checked the trunks and dialing rules and all seem to be correct ........anybody have some ideas of things I should start checking as I want to install a SOLO usb MIC to be able to use it. I don't have a direct in dial number a of yet as owe use the standard POT's for incoming calls

Added to this if I try to make intercom or outside calls I get a msg on the orbiter Failed to make call: ERROR Couldn't make call from Device 68 to xxxxxxxxxxxl
