« on: February 16, 2013, 08:33:12 am »
Hi All,
Have tried all afternoon to get an image out of an Axis M1011 IP Camera I have tried all the different suggestions from the wiki's and at one stage in the security camera page it came back with a grey screen with the time and a message that the connection to the camera had been lost though after that brief moment it now just comes back with camera screenshot not available

Any help would be much appreciated I am using 810 Final

Hi Matt,
Sorry I have looked up the link you gave me and I am totally lost and to be honest I know very little command line just enough to get myself into trouble so any help of how to clean the database up would be much appreciated sorry your dealing with someone that can fix digital projectors not software issues

Thanks to Kezza for some configuration tips on the grabber etc I now have all the EPG data, though this has created nother issue of when watching TV thorough the HD Homerun it freezes anywhere between 1 to 5 mins of viewing and comes up with a msg of "video frame buffering failed too many times" I have restarted everything is it worth doing an update. It was working fine prior to making changes to get the EPG data

Thanks

« on: March 18, 2012, 04:19:43 pm »
Hi All,
Looking for some help here I have very limited experience with MYTHTV I am running the 810 RC final release which is all running very well.

I have finallly added my HD Homerun and LMCE picked it up and I was able to tune all the channels on both tuners......the question I have is I cannot get any EPG data on MYTHWEB

I am located in Melbourne and using the Digital FTA from 160km's away in Bendigo as I am located in an difficult reception area, I have spent ages on Google and the forums but I think I need a couple of pointers as I must be missing a step somewhere. Also does anybody know why everytime I choose a channel to watch and go to MYTHWEB its already recording can I stop this happening.

So if anybody can assist with how to get the EPG data working on MYTHWEB and the recording issue that would be much appreciated

Kind regards

Installation issues / 810 update Well Done and Thank you
« on: January 01, 2012, 11:03:42 pm »
Hi All,
Bit the bullet last night and decided to download the final 810 release and completely re do my system with an existing software RAID array and I just want to say thanks to all the Development team and all the users that have made 810 successful as it worked out of the box so to speak.

Just have to set all my firewall rules up again as all the devices on the network changed there IP addresses which is no issue then set up the VOIP. The whole family are now happy again as our system has been out of action for well over 6 months, the only thing I had to do was set up the auto resume option in the CORE media plug in otherwise so far everything is working iPad, iPhone orbiters, MD directors etc

810 picked up the software RAID and it rebuilt itself overnight and now our 4 year old is using the Gyro remote sitting on his couch watching Thunderbirds. For now I will make my usual image back up then wait for 1004 so I can start on my Zwave and IP camera intergration.

So once again thanks to everybody fantastic work and happy new year

Kind regards
Beeker :)

Anybody feel free to correct me if I am wrong, from my limited knowledge I believe 1004 will support PXE boot of the Foxconn though it is not supported in any 810 snapshots so you will need to go through the whole exercise of adding support for this NIC and then make an image of your system like I did so you don't have to go through the same pain every time............I have left the Foxconn on the back of the plasma turned off until I see a final release in 1004 as I find it too painful to keep testing snapshots only to find something else is broken.

I have a snapshot from Feb last year that I use and so occasionally I will do an update and upgrade to get the new features but sometimes it screws the core so I just revert to my original image and do a restore in 6 mins and everything is back up and running. I have to say I did an update and upgrade to the core and md last week and everything is working great even Asterisk so I intend to make an image of this and that way I don't have to re download 650mb or more of updates

Cheers

Users / How to replace a Core
« on: February 18, 2011, 12:07:08 pm »
Question for the experts
I have an existing Core/Hybrid with a software RAID and I am taking Thom C's advice and others of using a server board and building a new Core/Hybrid then moving to an external NAS rather than a software RAID. Question is after I build the new Core and set the IP address to the addresses I was using on the old core, then just change the IP address of the old core to be able to move the content from the software RAID to the external NAS before converting the old core/hybrid to another external NAS

Thanks

Installation issues / Re: Video not playing on MD
« on: February 11, 2011, 10:37:38 pm »
Hey Crisis90
Glad to see you nearly have this Foxconn running mine is still sitting on the floor until 1004 goes beta, limited success with this as a MD, after all the stuffing around to get the NIC to be recognised mine would playback everything but it would freeze the image or sound whilst playing back intermittently.

Currently I have an old snapshot saved as an image and I use that, I have given up trying to get new snapshots as it's frustrating to spend all that time only to find out something else has been screwed, I personally love the ability and flexibility of LMCE I just get frustrated of doing updates or new installs only to find out more things are broken. I have just spent 3 days trying to get an Axis IP camera working following the wiki's and discussing on the IRC and now it is sitting on the floor as well....as per everybodys reconmendations now swapping over to Panasonic Cameras.

I hope you can get the Foxconn box working as it is perfect for going on the back of my plasma's, I just had so much trouble getting the NIC to be recognised even after following the wikis and IRC help it was just a complete pain, I hope this NIC will be included in 1004

Cheers
