LinuxMCE / Users / Re: 0810: Timed Events adding new entries by itself

Yes it does. and you don't need to click it twice.. It does create a new event every time you click on the link, also the first time.
This does not happen if you choose "timed events" from the top dropdown menu.
Confirmed from Google chrome.

Hi,
Can answer partly:
Day & Night: Assume this is the same as sunset and sunrise which it controls by your location settings in Webadmin. See: Wizard -> Basic Info -> Installation.
I did have an issue with a zwave device which did turn on without me telling it to do so. Discovered I had set it's location for the device to "Outside Area" (See room setup) This device where then automatically added to a scenario and turned automatically on / off based on sunrise/sunset.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Nope 8N1, was a typo and does not make any difference.
Tried the bottom not on the Sharp page with minicom and no commands do work.
As additional info I can inform that I have the exactly same issue on my MD with another pc with another Sharp model LCD. The MD does also work perfectly with my other laptop and putty under windows.

LinuxMCE / Users / RS232 & Sharp Aquos not working in LMCE, Only Windows
|
on: February 22, 2010, 12:35:20 pm

Hi,
On my laptop: With windows running Putty I do control my Sharp Aquos LC52X20E with e.g. "POWR1 " & "POWR0 " or any other command from the manual.
On my Core: Have 2 serial ports (one on the Motherboard which is not connected and one on a pci card which is connected to the TV) Found the serial card which is connected to be /dev/ttyS1 (Port 0xdc00) Only these 2 serial ports are reported with UART 16550A when I run setserial -g /dev/ttyS[012345678]
When issuing the below commands nothing happens: /usr/pluto/bin/TestSerialPort -p 2 -P N81 -b 9600 -t "POWR0 \r\s500mPOWR1 \r\n" -i 1 -s "OK\r"
or
/usr/pluto/bin/TestSerialPort -p 2 -P N81 -b 9600 -t "POWR0 \r\n" -i 1 -s "OK\r"
Any suggestions on where the issue might possibly be is highly appreciated.

LinuxMCE / Users / Broken audio in .flv video files
|

Believed that after upgrades last week playback of .flv files got broken.
Lots of noise, scratching sound on the audio and totally unusable of the video files.
Anyone else experiencing the same or have a workaround?

Hi,
Thanks I know it can be associated to groups, but then you need a controller to do so (Which I believe is not possible with an Aeon Z-stick which is the only other item I have in addition to switches and smoke detectors).
To have the switch show up in LMCE would as far as I can see be a huge benefit. Believe then it can be used to trigger other devices just as you do with motion detectors etc. today.
Example Event: IF button 2 on this switch off THEN Turn off all light and stop all media. IF button 2 on this switch on THEN turn on light from your entrance to the normally used rooms in your house...
or a lot of other scenarios If you associate you can only control the z-wave devices, not all the other functions within LMCE.

Hi Hari, Thanks for the reply. (A little confusing that you write "No", and then "You can use it to control other devices... assume this means without going through LMCE) Then I need a different controller as I can not "associate" it with other devices with the Z-stick (As far as I know) And then assume the association part on this page is not valid to this light switch: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Z-Wave_Getting_Started#Setting_associationsThen to ask differently. Is there any plans to implement this in LinuxMCE? Is this then also the "issue" with the smoke detectors? To gain some more knowledge as youre the expert here, is this something that is launched in the new z-wave/zensys protocoll?

nite_man, Believe the potentioal and possibilitites here are bigger...
Believe the following should be possible: - Tamper alarm - Smoke alarm - Use it as a siren for a security alarm? Would be quite loud and awesome. - Battery status on request - One detector sets off all of them - Assume the text to speach can give you a message of where the fire might be as well?
Hari: - Is it because of a new z-wave version/revision? It is fully working in Homeseer.. Believe you need more than one to fully test the equipment.. as they are supposed to be connected to eachother. 5 units could be associated according to the spec.... believe we could connect and set of all with LinuxMCE? Will check with some other what is possible in Homeseer..

Hey, Price is not that bad. USD 100,- each for a smoke detector, wireless with battery and tamper alarm.. (Tamper alarm might be nice if you are renting out parts of your house)
I have included them in the Aeon Z-stick, but is too stupid to make a template and make it work.
Assume it would not be too much of a problem with concrete walls if you have several devices not too far away from each other... looks like good signal as I have installed a smoke detector in a small "building" next to my house as I have electricity and other stuff in there...
