No.

The only thing providing DHCP must be the core.

Turn off DHCP on the router.

Yes, even if you got it to mute when you paused, the sync would be off. In fact, I would think the sync is off now... because the image buffers a little bit and you are just getting a raw audio feed.

If the machine you are on is a windows machine, use putty
http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty.exe

ssh into 192.168.80.1 and log in.

Run lspci and at right click the title bar and choose "copy all to clipboard" and paste it here.

To be clear... this core definitely IS online, yes?

ping google returns a result?

Is this a new install? Was the system ever functioning correctly?

I don't know, however, how this will affect recording a program you are not watching.

I would first go into the web-admin under media directors:
Under the appropriate MD, drop down video "card" to nvidia or TNT2 and under hardware acceleration select VDPAU and hit update.

Wait a few minutes, some things might install, then reload the router.

If that does not cure it, try the "rebuilding image" button (on the same media directors page), and then reboot the core... and then the MD.

Hope that helps.

*edit, I missed that you are running line-in.

I believe there is a way to force it to mute line in on exit and unmute on open.

Try opening mythtv setup, and under the general sub-menu on about the fourth tab under Startup Command:
Code:
v4lctl volume mute off
and under shutdown:
Code:
v4lctl volume mute on

Try

sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-new
954  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Second internal hdd problem - was used for LMCE7.10 on: September 27, 2010, 12:21:51 am
Hi,

This is my first post. I am happy to be using this great product.

I was using LMCE7.10 and then bought a new hard disc drive, removed the LMCE7.10 hdd, installed LMCE8.10 on the new hdd. Things are working well.

I then attached the old hdd and it auto-mounted all right. I believe I chose the option that remember my choice and mount it every time. I then copied all my video to the new hdd (I want to use the older one exclusively for recording TV shows).

As I understand it, LinuxMCE requires that MythTV recordings, live or otherwise, must occur on the drive LinuxMCE is installed on. Any changes to this schema will be overwritten.

Quote
I now wanted to reformat (delete all LMCE7.10 partitions, create only one and format).. However, it would not allow me to do so, since it was already mounted. I therefore disconnected it, and attached it to a Windows pc and deleted all the partitions. Next, I attached it to LMCE8.10, created a primary partition, created ext3 file system, and then it was auto-detected. I chose to use it for recording TV shows.

This time LinuxMCE autodetected this drive as sda1, and all my LMCE8.10 partitions are sdb1, sdb6 etc. My boot partition, swap etc partitions now became sdb* instead of sda*. Also, all the media files that are required by LinuxMCE (setup videos of sarah etc) are now available to me in Video folder!

I would, if I were you, attach that drive back to windows and delete all partitions. Then re-attach to the core and boot. I would then enter the web admin, and at the bottom of the left frame choose "Show device tree". Find the 2nd drive under Core, click it, choose "Delete Device" at the header of the main frame.

Then enter the KDE desktop, open a terminal and install gparted.
Code:
sudo apt-get install gparted

Click the "start" button/applications/settings/partition manager. Then just format the whole drive as XFS.

Reboot the machine.

After a bit (don't be impatient), the system will detect the drive and ask you if you want to use it. Say yes. Use LinuxMCE directory structure. Automatically use. TV will have to live on the boot drive.

What chipset are you using?

I think there is an easier way to do this.

For the fellow droid heads... RemoteDroid turns your droid into a touchscreen mouse/keyboard over your wireless network.

Hi... a couple of things...

When installing from the latest snapshot, it is important that you use the "LMCE install" option. Was that the option you used? If so I am a little confused as to where it bombed. Also, make sure your internet connection is on Eth0.
958  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Orbiter failed to generate openGL on: August 09, 2010, 08:04:23 pm
If DENMVT's suggestion (originally pw44's) about samba in your original thread does not magically fix these issues I will walk you through manually re-installing the video side. My method is not preferred, but will probably get you past most of this, avoiding a fresh install.

What version of Nvidia is currently installed?

Code:
sudo cat /proc/driver/nvidia/version

3 days, 3 weeks... you get the idea. Had to take on some projects to keep the people fed.
