Installation issues / IR code sequence
« on: April 16, 2010, 04:19:36 am »
Hia,
does anyone knows how to enter a IR code sequence, i.e, i need to send a two IR codes with an interval of 1 second between each code?
To control the input source of my TV i need to send  AV+ (wait 1 second) and 3 (to change to HDMI).
How can i define it in template?
TIA,
Paulo

Users / PnPQueue question
« on: April 15, 2010, 01:02:11 am »
Hia,
after my bluetooth phone have been detected, from some time to now, it does not connect anymore.
Reading the http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Re-Detecting_Plug_and_Play_Devices wiki, it could be the solution for making it be detected again.
But it also poses another problem: all the detected devices working would be detected and configured again, and i think it's undesireble.
Is there a way to only delete the entry for one device, instead of deleting all?
TIA,
Paulo

Installation issues / UPDATE removed my IR Devices.
« on: April 14, 2010, 09:42:04 pm »
Hia,
after running apt-get update and apt-get upgrade today, the database was updated, but the device template for my amplifier is gone - all the IR codes were uncorrectly assigned. Investigating, i figured that Uses Group/Codeset (under AV Devices -> AV Properties) were changed to a "pronto codeset" instead of mantaining the codeset i earlier defined.. The templates for my tape dek and my tuner are there correct.
Could someone please explain why did it happen?
TIA,
Paulo

Users / [SOLVED] Flooplan wizard problem - drag does not work.
« on: April 03, 2010, 08:04:41 pm »
Hia,
trying to create a flooplan, i got the following problem:
created the PNG image (whole house) and  uploaded it. ok. it shows right.
when selecting i.e entretainment zone, i get living and master bedroom.
Trying to drag living to the image (png) fails. The same with master bedroom.
I did see the youtube video, where the flooplan shows for the entire home.
Is there any trick to make it work?
TIA,
Paulo

Users / Audio settings for media type.
« on: March 28, 2010, 06:18:32 pm »
Hia,
maybe it's not the right place to post this, but could not find the answer anywhere, so  ihope to get a little help from the developers.
How do i set the audio mode for a media type. i.e. Live TV will switch the DSP mode off and have stereo, Video will switch the DSP mode to ON and select Movie Theather, Audio will select the DSP mode to ON and select Concert Hall?
I'm asking this because i did not find where to define it and because when i select Live TV, DSP mode is switched to ON and mode to Dolby Digital Enhanced, and this produces no sound, so i have to stand up and switch manually the mode.
TIA,
Paulo

Installation issues / selecting the correct DSP mode for given source.
« on: March 28, 2010, 01:54:42 am »
Hia,
after defining the template for my dsp amplifier, with most of it's dsp modes, i found out that it allways selects a dsp mode for the given source, i.e, selecting TV on OSD menu selects the correct audio input and a DSP mode (incorrect for me).
Question:
how can i define the DSP mode for the given source, i.e, videos = effect on -> dolby pro logic, audio = effect on -> music hall,  TV = effect off -> PCM?
Is there a way to set it up?
TIA,
Paulo

Hia,
since the installation of my lmce, i get this There some devices on ths media director that did no correctly start.... message when regenerating the orbiter and reloading the router.
Did dig the log files but did not find anything.
All the installed devices are working (telecom, security ip camera...)
Any hint of what could be generating this message? Ok. i now what it means but not finding why.

Installation issues / Pronto Codeset for IR devices
« on: March 24, 2010, 02:45:45 pm »
Hia,
i would like to know how to create a pronto codeset without using and adapting an existing one.
I did create a template for my Yamaha devices, and some pronto codesets were presented, and i adapted one of them for my DSP-A1. For some reson that i not being able to figure, after running setup wizard, the template created got double entries with the wrong codes, i.e. all the work i had in editing the template, cutting and pasting the correct codes, deleting not existing entries for my device and adding others for it, got screwed (it's not the first time it occurs, but i want to make it the last).
So i thing that the best is create a brand new codeset, without using as base an existing one.
Is there a tutorial or wiki in how to create the codeset and associate it to the device template?
TIA,
Paulo

Users / MPlayer_player behavior differences.
« on: March 23, 2010, 01:31:10 pm »
Hia,
after setting my MD up, i've found a behavior difference between my code/hybrid and my MD.
On my MD, when playing a .mkv file (MPlayer_player is used), for example, when type #, the language is changed, right arrow skips forward, left arrow skips back, bu twhen doing the same on my core/hybrid, none of this works ( #, ->, <- ). I did check the /root/.mplayer/config on both and they are the same.
Could someone explain why the different behavior?
TIA

Hia
after installing the diskless MD, apt-get update and apt-get upgrade it, i'm getting a problem when trying to watch live tv on the MD. The mythtv screen appears, and fail with a "video frame buffering failed too many times" message, and stops.
Does someone knows what could be the reason for this and how to fix it?

Users / MPlayer fails to play on Media Director
« on: March 15, 2010, 05:33:14 pm »
Hia,
after setting my first diskless MD up, i've found that MPlayer_player was not doing it's job.
Trying to play a .m2ts file gave my a grey screen and nothing was happening.
So, after an apt-get install and apt-get update, pluto_mplayer was installed.
Did also nedd to apt-get install w32codecs.
After that, trying to play the same file, i got a black screen. Looking at the log, there's a FATAL ERROR.
mplayer (under KDE Desktop on MD) plays the file and on my core/hybrid, the file is also played by MPlayer_Player.
The MD has a Geforce 6800, an 1024x760 monitor on the VGA port, Video Card = Geforce or TNT2, hardware acceleration = vdpau, Deinterlace quality = high.
Is there anything missing or overkilled?
TIA,
Paulo

« on: March 15, 2010, 10:26:23 am »
Hia,
I would like to know which versions are the right ones for lmce:
   nvidia-173-modaliases = 173.14.12-1-0ubuntu5.1
   nvidia-177-modaliases = 177.82-0ubuntu0.1
   nvidia-180-modaliases = 180.60-0ubuntu9
   nvidia-195-kernel-source = 195.36.08-0ubuntu1
   nvidia-195-libvdpau = 195.36.08-0ubuntu1
   nvidia-71-modaliases = 71.86.04-0ubuntu10
   nvidia-96-modaliases = 96.43.09-0ubuntu1.1
   nvidia-common = 0.2.4.2
   nvidia-glx-195 = 195.36.08-0ubuntu1
   nvidia-settings = 190.36-0ubuntu5

For nvidia-195-libvdpau and nvidia-glx-195 there are ubuntu and lmce versions. Which is to be used?

TIA,

Paulo

Users / AV connections not being controlled
« on: March 11, 2010, 07:09:12 pm »
Hia,
after configuring my AV equipment, i notice that when i open a (UI -> Media) media like video or audio, the amplifier turns on, selects the correct input and it's ok, but when i select KX-390 (UI -> Media), the correct input is not selectd at the amplifier. Testing the AV Propertiesfor KX-390 and DSP-A1 at webadmin -> A/V Equipment, all the IR codes works well, including the input selector for the amplifier.
The other thing that i'm not being able to do is to power off the amplifier when stopping media. When orbiter starts, it turns the amplifier on. When media starts and the amplifier is off, IR code for turnning it on are sent and works. But how to turn it off withoput the need to stay up and doing it manually?
Does anyone experienced something like this?
Attached are the snapshots for connection and devices.
TIA,
Paulo
