Installation issues / Orbiter for Cisco 79XX issues
« on: August 10, 2010, 05:29:03 pm »
Hia,
after using the Cisco 7970 for some time, i did note some problems:
1) When receiving a call, the caller id is NOT displayed on the phones orbiters, but on MDs and Core/hybrid, it´s shown.
2) Even if the phone is registered as being in a room, it starts with living (but is registered as being on master bedroom).
3) When placing a call from one phone, trying to place a call from the other phone simply dies. Should it be a message like "all lines are busy now"?
Anyone aware of this?
TIA,
Paulo

Hia,
i got a new cisco 7970G phone, and it is running in cycles (line lights) and does not stop.
I guess it is looking for firmware to load (please correct me if i'm wrong).
On my /tftpboot directory, i do have the following 7970 files:

apps70.8-5-4TH1-6.sbn
cnu70.8-5-4TH1-6.sbn
cvm70sccp.8-5-4TH1-6.sbn
dsp70.8-5-4TH1-6.sbn
jar70sccp.8-5-4TH1-6.sbn
SCCP70.8-5-4S.loads
term70.default.loads
term71.default.loads
which i assume are correct sccp files.

My syslog tells the following:

Aug  7 13:54:56 dcerouter dhcpd: DHCPREQUEST for 192.168.80.146 from 00:13:7f:fd:94:4b (SEP00137FFD944B) via eth1
Aug  7 13:54:56 dcerouter dhcpd: DHCPACK on 192.168.80.146 to 00:13:7f:fd:94:4b (SEP00137FFD944B) via eth1
Aug  7 13:55:03 dcerouter atftpd[32276]: Serving term70.default.loads to 192.168.80.146:1025

These entries repeats for hours.

So, the phone is trying to get the files.

In my SEPDefault7970.cnf.xml file i have the entry:
<loadInformation>TERM70.7-0-1-0s</loadInformation>

What else do i need to do in order ot get the phone reading the files and finally works?

TIA,

Paulo

SOLVED: i got the cmterm-7970_7971-8-5-4.zip. After searching, i did read a post where an user told not being successful with any version other than .cop. So, i got cmterm-7970_7971-8-5-4.cop, and used it's files. In 5 minutes, the phone was alive and kicking, ready for service.

P.S. Thx Hari for trying to help me on last saturday.

Installation issues / question about udev rules for video (webcam)
« on: August 03, 2010, 09:38:27 pm »
Hia,
due a bug on my (and anybodies M3N78-VM) concerning usb 1.1 handling, i got a startech pci board for usb, and have my usb 1.1 devices (like webcam) connected to it, leaving the mobos usb interfaces for usb 2.0 devices.
On boot, the startech pci board loads first, making the webcam getting the video0 device, which is undesireable for me.
I did create the /etc/udev/rules.d/25-name-video-devices.rules with following content:
SUBSYSTEM=="pci", BUS=="usb", SYSFS{idVendor}=="05a9", SYSFS{idProduct}=="0511", NAME="video4"
problem is: on boot, the f***g webcam gets assigned to /dev/video0.
the dmesg output for this is:
[  333.231214] ov511 7-1:1.0: Device at usb-0000:01:06.1-1 registered to video0
AFAIK, subsystem is pci and bus is usb.
Anyone with a hint?
TIA

Installation issues / Motion issues
« on: July 10, 2010, 04:10:26 pm »
Hia,
i'm trying to configure motion with a mix of cameras, usb and ip.
For ip camera, i got an ICamView USB to IP server, and using http://192.168.80.140/pda.cgi?user=viewer&password=viewer&page=image&cam=1, i can get the image from this dedicated server.
Adding this as generic ip camera (wizard -> devices -> surveillance cameras) gets template and i select generic ip camera.
For Path, i do enter: http://192.168.80.140/pda.cgi?user=viewer&password=viewer&page=image&cam=1, TCP port is 80 and IP is 192.168.80.140 and it's controlled by core.
Then i go to wizard -> interfaces -> add device, select motion wrapper, and have video input type = 8 (usb camera) and all the motion parameters for usb webcam.
What is to be changed?
Is there the need to have one motion wrapper for each cam?
The wiki is not very usefull about the configuration....:(
TIA

Hia,
form the begining of my installation, everytime orbiters are regenerated, i get failure message on staring VideoLan-server and VideoLan-Client.
Seaching the system, i never found both.
The question is: Does these two componets still exists?
On Media Directors, there is the option of disable VideoLan-CLient, but not VideoLan-Server.

Users / Adding a second telephone line. How?
« on: June 28, 2010, 11:26:19 pm »
Hia,
after having pstn working well, thx to the wiki (http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Sipura/Linksys_spa3000_pstn_interface), now is time to get a voip provider in order to make calling Europe much cheaper. My choice is voipcheap, but first i need to be able to add a second phone line, and next, to tune the dialplan and routing.
Questions:
1) How do i add a second phone line (could not find it in the webadmin)?
2) How to add it without the use of the ATA (which is intended only for the pstn line), but having the phone connected to it be able to route to voip?
I will call and receive calls from both (pstn and voip).
Anyone have it working and would kindly help?
TIA,
Paulo

Installation issues / V4L2 drivers - OV511 problems
« on: June 26, 2010, 04:08:56 pm »
Hia,
after the last update, i'm getting some weird problems, and would like to know if someone also is having or had it:
1) core/hybrid - USB gyro mouse and gyration remote stops, and are only enabled again after a reboot.
2) core/hybrid - USB camera, after a router reload stops. Unplugging and replugging does not help.
3) without any explanation, router reload occours.
The kernel being used is the 2.6.27-17.
It seems that something might be wrong with the USB subsystem. Any hint?

EDIT: After some tests, i suspect of the OV511 driver, which seems to be causing instability problems.
Unplugging the OV511 webcam, no problems.
Plugging back the OV511 webcam, after a time, gyro mouse stops working, no more PnP detection....of any webcam...
without the camera, the router does not unexpected reload.
This problem occurs with both kernel versions i have installed: 2.6.27-13 and 2.6.27-17.

TIA,
Paulo

« on: June 22, 2010, 09:06:42 pm »
Hia,
today i've installed my USB camera, as described in http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Analog_cameras
After that, the camera was recognized, but i get a static image. No change, after hours.
And if i do a reload router, no more connection, even with /etc/init.d/morion restart.
