106  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Suggestion for Motion detection on: May 18, 2012, 11:42:34 pm
When i follow the advice in the wiki http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Express_Controls_EZmotion_(HSM_100)
for setting the wakeup time to 6 minutes then in the log i see:

36      05/19/12 0:37:26.702            Nodeid: 2 Value: 360 <0x41000b70>
36      05/19/12 0:37:26.702            Adding job to sleeping queue: 0x9bcb708 <0x41000b70>
36      05/19/12 0:37:29.262            We have been idle for 30 seconds, polling device states <0x40a69b70>
40      05/19/12 0:37:29.362            Sending job 0x9bcb928 (cb 88) - 0x1 0x9 0x0 0x13 0xff 0x2 0x20 0x2 0x5 0x58 0x67 (###### ##Xg) <0x40a69b70>

35      05/19/12 0:37:29.367            ZW_SEND delivered to Z-Wave stack <0x40a69b70>

35      05/19/12 0:37:29.388            ZW_SEND Response with callback 88 received <0x40a69b70>
35      05/19/12 0:37:29.388            ZW_SEND was successful, removing job <0x40a69b70>

then i believe that it was switched to a wakeup time of 6 Minutes.

But after some time it seems to be resettet to 3600 again.

So after following the steps in the wiki for changing certain parameters, is there s.th i have to do to make them fix? Sorry, s.th like a SAVE?

If i send the command for the motion to have a maximum length of 1 minute, then i got following response:

40      05/19/12 0:41:03.503            Sending job 0x9bcea08 (cb 111) - 0x1 0x9 0x0 0x13 0xff 0x2 0x31 0x4 0x5 0x6f 0x47 (######1##oG) <0x40a69b70>

107  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Dianemo S: Big Fonts in LMCE Launch Manager on: May 17, 2012, 11:29:54 pm
Its funny because its only happening in all lmce related boxes and not on ubuntu desktop.
108  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Dianemo S: Big Fonts in LMCE Launch Manager on: May 17, 2012, 10:11:30 pm
After installation of the dianemo s, i got following behaviour, that the lmce launch box and all website, i start under "computing" have very big fonts, so that it is nearly not usable.

All other things are normal. means the UI and also the desktop is fine.

This is only on the Core. On the media director its quite normal, but resolution is only 1024x768 while on the core we have fullHD

When setting configuration parameters on the EZMotion you need to press the blue button to wake the device up for it to receive the command.

br,
sambuca

Sambuca,

just to make sure, i followed this wiki:

Select the ZWave device in the advanced web config devices section.
Select send command to device.
Select "Set Config Param" as the command to send.
48 Value (int) = Your desired timeout in minutes
239 NodeID (int) = The ZWave node ID of the HSM 100 to configure
248 Parameter ID (int) = 2
Press the blue button on the side of the HSM 100 you are trying to configure
Click "Send Message"

after that it should work right?
110  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Suggestion for Motion detection on: May 17, 2012, 05:07:06 pm
Thanks for your input pos and techstyle.

i set it already up with a sleep timer.
That is all working well, light goes on, it sleeps for a certain amount and after that goes down again.

But the EZMotion is holding its Motion for about 20 Minutes.

Means....if - after my sleeptimeout another motion is happening within 20 Minutes - the ezmotion is not fireing again.
There is a wiki about it, to lower this ezmotion timeout to 1 minute (which would be sufficient) but that seems not to work in my case.

Anybody has experience with that?

hi,

I've played around some days with a trickle star, aeron labs usb controller, a düwi light switch and an EZmotion sensor.

the initial idea was, as soon as a motion is happening the lights should go on. i am thinking of lightning in a e.g. corridor at night.
1. The sensor is tripped
2. The light should stay on a few seconds, to a minute and went down again after that time.
3. if two minutes later again the sensor is tripped, the light should go on again.

I believe that is not a big part - but i am not able of managing it. item 1-2 is working, with a response to event item. Switching the light switch on giving dcerouter an idle timeout and then switching light out again.
Unfortunately the motion detector does not "rearm". Means the second "tripped" is not fired at all.

so i read in the wiki, that one can reconfigure the ezmotion, to shorten the motion time from 20 minutes to 1 minute. So i did that. don't know if the command got to the device, but the behavior is the same than above.

So question: is my scenario in general workable with the devices above? If not, can someone suggest a device (motion) which can fulfill those requirement?

112  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: a few Dianemo issues on: May 16, 2012, 01:13:16 pm
My Z-wave stick is not communicating either, I've been through the wiki and everything it said to happen has/did, but it still fails to start up when Dianemo starts and I get the message about reduced functionality.  I believe it may be due to the fact that it doesn't know which port its connected to, but how do I figure this out?  I have 8 USB ports on my core/nervecentre they all have something plugged in to them so how do I know which is the Z-wave stick (Aeon labs).

i had the same issue with the zwave stick and even with a hauppauge usb adapter.
I relaized the the port wasn't assigned at all. So i choosen a free one. after that the message about functionality was gone and it was working.
(even the usb stick is physically plugin - the usb port in the drop down box - was unoccupied)
113  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Ezmotion - Motion Detection on: May 14, 2012, 12:42:33 pm
Hey sambuca,

if i understand you right, first time motion is detected (that is working), it fires an event (working), than after a predefined time (in the ezmotion), the motion goes back to 0. Then e.g. if i make a motion 10 minutes later (if that is over the predefined motion length) it should fire again and report 1 to lmce, right?

My problem seems to be that the ezmotion is going into a kind of dep stand bye. it won't fire a second time, not after 1 or 10 or 100 minutes. Only pressing the blue button is helping me to get it up again.

That is not a normal behaviour, is it?

murcel

I can't say 100% what your actual problem is based on what you write, so I'll describe my setup:
When the EZMotion first detects motion, its led lights up and an event is emitted, the led goes dark again almost immediately after. Now the detector is active, and is not sending any more motion detected events. When no motion is detected for a specified amount of time, the detector send a new motion event, with a value of 0 (iirc). When the motion detector again detects motion at this point, the led blinks again and a new event is emitted.

The motion sensor always detects motion, but it also has a brightness sensor that allows you to set a certain light level where it triggers an event. So if it is very bright, no event is emitted. This is configurable.

Maybe i am too studpid or have an understanding problem.
These are my first steps in setting up z-wave. i do not know the products neither the technolgie. its only a rudimental understanding.

i set up the device like it is described in the wiki.
Everything seem to work nice. In the floorplan i can see some temperatur.

then i setup a respnse to events:

A sensor (door/window/motion/etc.) is tripped
choose the sensor, action, light a zwave dimmer.

this is working as long as the led on the ezmotion is blinking (means for the first time)
After that the light stays on.
The led of the EZMotion will go dark after a certain time and will not get out of standbye anymore.
I have to press the blue pin.

So my question: (i know the thing about the motion and the minutes)

Does a motion sensor makes sense if it goes to standbye?
shouldn't it report every motion (which is outside of the ezmotion defined time of motion length)?

So is this a normal behaviour, or did i missconfigured it?

I want to say thanks to all who are helping me testing this stuff!

There was a bug with reading of user defined urls. Should be fixed and in addition flac pictures should work now, too.

UpdateMedia.gz (1.5 MB)

this file is working now, but please check your pm.
116  LinuxMCE / Developers / Re: Tester for updateMedia id3 unicode fix needed on: June 23, 2010, 06:52:37 pm
Next one. Video and empty mp3 files shouldn't crash any more.

UpdateMedia.gz (1.5 MB)

does not go through for all files.....UpdateMedia.log doesn't contain any entries.

Only first file is processed

sudo -u root /usr/pluto/bin/UpdateMedia -d \"/home/public/data/audio/ST31000525SV (sdd1) on dcerout [469]/a-z/Ina Müller\"

First tests are good.
German umlauts are imported correctly.

@Thom: I will, but give me some time to get a working version at first. I don't like the idea of publishing crap that is not usable in any way.

@Murcel Just download the file and play a little bit with it. If available scan some files with and without special chars, edit Attributes, remove them,  play the files. What you would do in regular use.

118  LinuxMCE / Developers / Re: Tester for updateMedia id3 unicode fix needed on: May 28, 2010, 10:54:34 pm
so how can i help?

murcel

Hi everybody,

it seems as we have some problems reading id3 files with special characters. At the moment I try to change the underlaying tagging library to fix this, but I need some help testing the stuff. At this point I haven't added any new features, so testing would be limited to everything that is possible with the original version (like scanning, removing/editing of tags, etc.).

As this is an early version, you maybe shouldn't use it on your productive systems.

UpdateMedia.rar (784 KB)

Thanks for your help,
