So I finally got the right combination of time, hardware and disk space to be able to set up a working dev environment. I've tested to compile some modules and everything seems to be OK. First PoC will be to create a work-around for a very annoying bug from UpdateMedia that I'm sure all Scandinavian users will enjoy (and German, Spanish - or whoever have to use a media tagged with anything outside of the small English alphabet). Some news on that to follow next year!

Good news, hear from you next year.

Hi folks,

I'm new to LinuxMCE (ver 10.04) , an tackling one problem at a time, this is my first attemp via chat rooms.  so here goes

I've setup a virtual box (Sun's version) and got the ubuntu up and running, I played many avi, mp4 ... but keeps failing on mkv files, I've install gnome-mplayer to test in case it wasn't support, but I'm able to play mkv file and works great on gnome-mplayer, but LinuxMCE keeps failing, it would seem that it pluto-xine doesn't like it, keeps failing at , it can't find or and when i put a sym link to it. it fails at sharing.  I'm not  familiar with xine so , has anyone got the pluto-xine working on vbox with mkv files?

I'm using LinuxMCE 10.04, I've tried to do apt-get update and upgrades , but that didn't help. all links found said it was fix on this version.  obviously i didn't really expect for it to fix it, i don't get that type of luck. But since gnome-player works and vbox doesn't use the nvidia.  it a ' InnoTek Systemberatung GmbH VirtualBox Graphics Adapter' , thier has to be a way to get a vdpau or a driver  to work with pluto-xine for the mkv

vdpau is nvidia only, I think there lies your problem. Something not right with the driver?
Can you play other film formats?

I have no experience with astrisk at all, but wouldn't the log tell you this? Is it possible to flag activity like calling to madagascar for an hour is not something that I do every week.

Merry Christmas, one and all.

Thank you to all the developers, and indeed all the users, for making LMCE what it is.

So you are blaming all the bugs on the devs and the users?
Because it is christmas I will forgive you.

Merry Christmas everybody

Users / Re: DPMS monitor on Shuttle X50V2 Plus
« on: December 20, 2011, 05:58:04 pm »

After hassle to set up my "Shuttle X50V2 Plus" as MD (network adapter problem, screen resolution, etc. ..), it now works (thanks for the information found on the wiki).

But is there a reason why "DPMS monitor" does not work properly, knowing that this MD has an Intel video card (lmce 10.04)?
The screen turns off and comes back right away.

I know that Intel card is currently not recommended but that Shuttle seems perfect for integrating my kitchen! ;-)
And I think it's the only way to turn off the screen when I do not use it.

Coukd you update the wiki if necessary? Because I never got resolution properly working.

For some reason I always disliked the numpad. Has nothing to do with the skin, but it seems so just stick some buttons some where.
Oh well back to the beer.

Please do not film from hand, try to take a professional approach. Put the camera down, do not use zoom.
If you use zoom, the camera is in the wrong position, or use two takes.
Think about it, write it down.

No problem, sounds very serious, being evicted........

Maybe in the top box about the status of 0810 and 1004 we can make a clickable link going to the 0810 version installation wiki or the 1004 installation wiki?

to help me make a video. To show at SCALE. Whats this video of? Well, its quite simple really. All I ask is one of two options, or both if your game.

So what is it of? Well, simply put, its about you and LinuxMCE. Make a video of how you use your system or why you use LinuxMCE. Thats it. Simple right. Post it to the ole youTube or I can arrange some other method of transfer and I will compile it into a video which is going to be shown on the MD facing out into the convention floor.

So please, dont make me look like an ass and only have myself. Lol. But seriously, I think it would be a great way to involve the community.

So come on down, the water's fine!

Good initative, but am I bongo or do I only see one option.

Now I have some zwave items on its way.

standby power consumption for my lighting devices is +-250watts what is unnacceptable IMO (15 wall plugs).

I use current cost to measure power consumption

In their documents it says 1w static load
