I only run mythtv setup from MCE not KDE desktop, don't know if there's a difference. In pluto admin, if you go to advanced/configuration/devices (top horizontal bar) in the left tree menu you see the card as PVR menu or inside the core/hybrid menu?

Not a new system but that's what i have.

1.  Nvidia 6600 (used also 7600 and working fine)
2. 1024x768 (not tried more)
3. UI2 with alpha blending
4.  7.10 rc2 DVD installation
5. separate
6. both Albatron
7. no

8. Don't know if we talk about the same problem but when first time watched livetv i had the picture cut in stripes, by lowering the recording contrast from 50% to 40% worked for me.

Hi,

During my first installation i had the same problem, but when i run mythtv setup, in the capture card menu the card was show as probed info and it worked fine.
Don't know if i helped but give it a check.

Users / Noob questions

Hi all,

Sorry if this is irrelevant but somewhere i have to ask.
I have a pvr-150 and antenna as input, when running channel scaner in myth i get as results some "numbered channels" (channel 21-22-etc) and some alphanumeric ones (E11-SR12 and more like that). The numbered ones i can watch and are our national channels, the other ones anyone knows what is and how i can watch them? Going up/down channels with the remote i get only the numbered ones.

Thanks for any help.

Sorry you're right.  :-[

I'm talking about this one, skaitv, in my ubuntu pc plays in mozilla with totem player.
It's free and no need to download anything so i guess no prob with mce but can it be assigned as a channel in the remote?

Hi all,

Amateur question here :)
I allready watch tv from my pvr 150 and i wonder:
Is it possible to watch stream tv from a site and have it assigned as a channel in my remote ?

Right about i was going crazy not being able to find stuff for my pc rig i found this thread.
I ordered a usb-uirt from your site and i want to say that the pricing and the delivery times was excellent.
It worked right out of the box with the RC6 remote i allready have.
Keep up the good work.

Hi to everyone!

After many years in Microsoft hostage with 2k i didn't want to upgrade in xp or vista so i started looking for alternatives, i ended up with Ubuntu and "saw the light" :).
Next discovery was asterisk, a thing i was dreaming for years, then i heard of mythtv and started thinking if there was a way to implement all this in a nice package.
Unfortunatelly my knowledge in programing and in linux os was not enough to accomplish this so one day surfing here and there i saw the video! That was it, my prayers was heard, next day i started ordering stuff (tv cards, remotes, etc.) and now, without much effort i have a hybrid pc running smoothly media (tv,dvd, music) and gathering money for lighting sensors and the rest.
The only thing bugging be is the telephony but i'm optimistic :).
Thank you all guys who participated in this project.
