Users / 1004 beta 1 hdmi audio issues
« on: August 26, 2012, 12:51:56 pm »
I am not sure what happened, I was able to hear the test sounds when choosing hdmi for audio, was able to hear the first past through but not the second. I was also able to hear sarah for setting up Media Player; this is an MD. Now I have finished, I am not getting any sound for videos, dvd or audio; all channels unmutted

This is my aplay -l

Users / handling discrete through input+number
« on: January 09, 2012, 11:10:13 pm »
I am trying to get the discrete codes for a Toshiba model 24SL410U, as you can press the input button and a number, for example, hdmi 1 is input + 1.

I tried combining the following codes

Users / Audio no longer work on hdmi stero inputs
« on: November 12, 2011, 05:30:16 pm »
Hi All,

A while back (2 yrs), I used to use a dvi to hdmi converter, and the stero audio on tv, which hdmi 1 allowed this configuration.

Tried it today, as I am getting hdmi audio issues with my GT520, but am not getting any audio; will get audio though if I unplug the video input to the tv, once plugged in, audio goes.

At this point, I am of the belief, the issue is related to the xorg.conf, but have been unable thus far, to put my finger on a specific value.

Thoughts any one

Users / GT520 810
« on: November 12, 2011, 05:23:54 pm »
Hi All,

I have added an ASUS GT520 to my MD, now I get no hdmi audio; used to get with my zotac gt220 which died.

Have tried upgrading to the newest nvidia driver 285... and also alsa to 1.0.24, with no luck.

When I type aplay -l, no audio devices show up, and lspci does list the audio device for the card, using snd-hda-intel, but dmesg shows that it does not know the codec. I found the following using google, and was wondering if it had any relation.

Any one using or got experience with this card.

Thanks

Users / POST data to a form, not linuxmce related
« on: September 15, 2011, 11:38:09 pm »
My grabber stopped working as the site layout changed.

I am using the LWP::UserAgent in perl, to get the web sites. There is a post function in it, that allows you to send data to a field in a form, I am not getting it to work, presently using

Quote
my $r = $ua->post( $url, \%form, 'ucChannelDetail1$drpDays' => $dayToGrab);

Have also tried

Quote
my $r = $ua->post( $url, \%form, name => $dayToGrab);

This is based on the page source code, part in question below

Quote
<select name="ucChannelDetail1$drpDays" onchange="javascript:setTimeout('__doPostBack(\'ucChannelDetail1$drpDays\',\'\')', 0)" id="ucChannelDetail1_drpDays">
      <option selected="selected" value="15/09/2011" day="15" month="9" year="2011">Today</option>
      <option value="16/09/2011" day="16" month="9" year="2011">Tomorrow</option>
      <option value="17/09/2011" day="17" month="9" year="2011">17/09/2011</option>
      <option value="18/09/2011" day="18" month="9" year="2011">18/09/2011</option>
      <option value="19/09/2011" day="19" month="9" year="2011">19/09/2011</option>

      <option value="20/09/2011" day="20" month="9" year="2011">20/09/2011</option>
      <option value="21/09/2011" day="21" month="9" year="2011">21/09/2011</option>

   </select>

Just wondering if anyone can provide any pointers.

Thanks

Users / Shutting down MD no media playing at night
« on: June 23, 2011, 12:18:21 am »
I have created a timed event to run every night, from 8 pm to 12 midnight, it supposed to check if no one is watch any media and turn the MD off. I have added the event, Not Watching - Foyer/Entrance (as and) to the timed event criteria, as a condition along with the other conditions, date and the times, but the MD gets turned off if someone is watching media (tv,dvd, video file).

What have am I missing here?

Users / Adding New Media Scenario
« on: March 31, 2011, 02:50:42 pm »
I am trying to add a new media scenario similar to the auto generated Video scenario to point to a directory - this is to separate my music videos. When I try adding through the web interface, I am not seeing the option to specify the file options that are shown for the Video scenario, what I see is the device, for eg. the xine player.

What are my options to accomplish this, right now my head space is manually adding to the DB, not sure how wise that is?

Thanks in advance.

Users / timeout at http://deb.linuxmce.org
« on: January 07, 2011, 03:03:44 pm »
I am just wondering, if any one else is getting a timeout from deb http://deb.linuxmce.org/ubuntu/ intrepid  beta2, as I tried to do an update, but it keeps timing out?

No it is not the first time this happened, got it over the weekend also.

Users / Event to Turn of Media in Another room
« on: November 19, 2010, 02:31:58 am »
I added a Squeezeslave player to my core/hybrid, and assigned it to a room, the player is really in my bedroom which has an MD, but did not get it to work assigning it to that room, so I created another room.

What I am hoping to achieve, is when I put on any type of media on the MD, it turns off the media(audio) playing on the squeezeslave  player in the other room assigned. In attempting to achieve this, I created two events, one for listening to media in the bedroom and the other for watching media in the bedroom, to turn of the media playing in the room of the squeezeslave player, but some how it seems I messed it up; it does not work; this is even with testing the command in the event.

I am wandering if this is because I did not set any values for the #41 StreamID (int) or #42 MediaPosition  (string).

What value should StreamID (int), take, tried the value I got from tailing DCE router log when I pause the media playing, but that did not work?

I have in the event criteria, the PK_EventParameter set to the bedroom the MD is and the PK_DeviceCategory set to Media Players and the commands is the SqueezeBox Player[bedroom1_2] Stop Media

Any suggestion on better achieving is welcomed.

Users / New Install but multiple database entries for same TV card
« on: July 11, 2010, 08:36:58 pm »
I completed a new install this morning, opted for a web install, as I got similar issues with various snapshots.

My issue is when I add a tuner card, either a HVR-1600 or PVR-150, two entries are entered into capturecard and cardinput tables within the mythcoverg DB - noticed this initially when going into myth-setup on the computing tab, saw eight 8 cards but only had added four 4 (this was initial build). Re-installed with only one card in the MD, the HVR-1600, same problem, two cards entered /dev/video0 and another /dev/video0(failed reading card) another attempt it came up /dev/video0 and /dev/video1, re-did the install again, without adding the card why building the MD, same issue when I added the card. If the cards are deleted in myth-setup (through computing link) and one card is added, on a router reload, or when mthfilldatabase finishs, the additional card is entered again. Went into the DB removed the additional entries from the mentioned tables; were re-added on another router reload or when mythfilldatabase finishes.

Any thoughts, I looked at the setup script and the HVR-1600 script, but for the "life of me", it did not ring any bells.

I am not in the US or Canada, as such I do have to go in and configure myth.

Thanks in advance, attempting to take in the match Spain vs Holland the old fashion way, cable box hook up to TV. :D

Installation issues / MythTV_Player not installing in beta2
« on: December 23, 2009, 11:05:58 pm »
I re-installed from scratch, my beta2 install as previously, when I create and MD, MythTV_Player, seemed to be not installed.

On checking, mythtv-backend, mythtv-frontend and MythTV_Player is not installed.

I was looking for a log of the install, as to what failed, was unsuccessful, any thoughts?

Also, what could be causing this issue.

Users / Some devices not installing on creating MD 810 beta2
« on: December 22, 2009, 01:45:17 am »
I created an MD on my 810 beta2 install. At the begining of Sara, I am getting an error that all devices have not started. I finished the setup wizard and investigated, where I found mythtv as on of the devices not installing. On previous attempts, I tried installing mythtv after but to no success, will just error out.

I looked in /var/log/pluto for indications as to why some devices are not installing but did not find anything which clearly states.

I found the following in /usr/pluto/bin/LoadMDModules.sh, which seems to set up the modules for an MD. I was inclined to run this script, in an effort to get all devices configured, will this solve this particular issue?

Also what other measures could I take to correct this?

Users / mythv issues 810 beta2
« on: December 14, 2009, 09:38:37 am »
Good Morning All

Installed 810 beta2 dvd, ran the /usr/pluto/bin/Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh, to allow diskless creation. Did not have to edit the this file /usr/pluto/bin/files.d/fstab-diskless - and my MD created successfully.

Set up mythtv, on the hybrid, and it works fine, attempted to play tv on the MD, this is where I encounter a little hickup, see excerpt from 44_MythTV_Player.log on the MD, the attempt to send the liveTv command seem to keep failing.

Pluto log, indicated that it had to restart the mythv backend several times and doing /etc/init.d/mythbackend status, showed it not running. Rebooted the MD and this seemed to have fix that issue, but although the backend was running on the MD, tv was not working.

Tried the solutions from the following posts:

The first one, as I was seeing multiple versions of mythtv, frontend and backend thus attempted that fix, was seeing a prompt to install mysql when I did apt-get install pluto-mythtv*, thus cancelled, this was on the MD in question. Rebuild the MD and tried the second topic after uninstalling mythv, this did not fix the issue, as still could not play tv on the MD.

Also tried the fix listed below, initially, as this had fix my issues in the initial beta, that is, including forcedirectio in the mount options.

Questions
Is the output of apt-cache showpkg mythtv-frontend correct? Please see attached file mythtv errors.txt

When I ran the /usr/pluto/bin/Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh and created an MD, I am seeing the errors show below, what are the correct entries for the /etc/apt/sources.list?

Is this error contributory to the issue?

Users / Changing Schedules Direct as Default in Media Setup
« on: December 10, 2009, 04:48:22 pm »
I was wondering, if it is possible to change schedules direct as the default guide capture on Media Setup.

At present I use the Mythtv guide, which is okay, wanted the look and feel shown in the demo video, with the use of the linuxmce guide.

If there is another alternative, I welcome the input.

Thanks
