31  LinuxMCE / Developers / Re: QOrbiter: Updated on: February 16, 2012, 05:23:44 am
OK- just an updated.  I pulled down the latest svn (changeset 25456) and have great success on the HP Touchpad.  Whereas before I had force the app to close to be able to get it to restart,  now, it starts nearly 90% of the time on the 1st try.  The other 10% i get stuck at a black screen and have to click a button to get back to the home screen.

Here's the audio page:
http://www.imgur.com/Z4ZlI

Not so good with my samsung galaxy s2.  I get the spashscreen, but then a black screen.  When I rotate the from portrait to landscape, there is a white rectangle that appears.  I would guess that rectangle is just where qorbiter isn't displaying an image.  What's really odd, is on the 1st go at qorbiter after the update, the main UI appeared as expected, sort of.  I was surprised not to see the phone UI and instead the desktop UI on my phone.

FWIW

OK- tried something new-

Added:  deb http://mirrors.rit.edu/ubuntu/ precise main universe to my sources by added it to here:
Code:
nano /etc/apt/sources.list

Then, started the owserver using this:
Code:
owserver --device=/dev/ttyUSB2 -p 4304

Then, started the owhttpd web client using this which creates a webpage on port 3000:
Code:
owhttpd -s localhost:4304 -p 3000

Most of the instructions are from here:
http://www.openremote.org/display/docs/OpenRemote+2.0+How+To+-+1-Wire+Sensors

The webpage shows (1) sensor with a temperature, so I got greedy and added another (2) to make sure it was working... unfortunately it still only says I have (1) thermocouple attached after restarting my core.

Edit:  Leaving breadcrumbs...  much quicker than core reboot...

You can kill a process using the follow:
Code:
/usr/pluto/bin/ForciblyKillProcess.sh OneWire

And restart using
Code:
/usr/pluto/bin/Spawn_Device.sh 124
Where 124 is MY device id- yours is likely different...
33  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Foscam FI8918W has anybody got it working? on: February 13, 2012, 03:31:40 am
Sorry- forgot the model number of my camera- not sure which one I have- looked on the tags but don't see any listings...  either way, mine does not have pan/tilt, so can't test that feature.  Let me know if you want me to try anything.

I know that when I first click on the camera from an orbiter I just have a blank (white) screen.  Not until I click on where the image would be (presumably to refresh the image) does an image appear.

Not sure this helps...
34  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Foscam FI8918W has anybody got it working? on: February 12, 2012, 11:42:20 pm
Yes- I am typically able to view my camera from my orbiter.  I think motion is still having problems as I am able to go to 192.168.80.1:8000 and see the picture- such as this one of my basement ceiling:  http://imgur.com/rY4Dp

Whenever I click on the camera on an orbiter or Security -> View Cameras I either get a blank screen on the orbiter or "Camera screenshot not available" in the web admin pages yet I can see the image linked on imgur above.

I just followed the directions in the wiki- this page looks different than I remember, but the instructions look very familiar:  http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Foscam_FI8905W

I've tried restarting motion per the wiki instructions, but to no avail:
Code:
dcerouter_1024916:/home/huh# /etc/init.d/motion restart
 * Not starting motion daemon, disabled via /etc/default/motion

In the mean time, tried this on my HP Touchpad with cyanogenmod 7 (resolution 1024x768):

http://imgur.com/MR3N7

and landscape:
http://imgur.com/orn6K

Ignore the time at the bottom- clearly having trouble with my touchpad keeping time  Smiley

BTW- as for performance- can't speak to how the media scrolls as I can't get my NAS to display media, but the EPG scrolls VERY smoothly.  Flicking is exactly what I would expect and it works- clicking a channel forces my USBUIRT to fire the code and cable box changes as expect.  Only problem I've had is getting the orbiter to start after closing...  if I don't go to the "Open/Close App Drawer" and then do a long press on the QOrbiter icon followed by "Application Info" where I can "Force stop" the app.  Oddly, sometimes after doing that, on the next start of the QOrbiter app, the splash screen appears, but gets stuck at "Setting Skin to:default".  Haven't found a work around yet- going to give it a couple minutes then try and restart the app.

Edit:
New picture using new orbiter golgoj4 just pushed out:

36  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Android QOrbiter on: February 12, 2012, 06:29:53 pm
Yes, it did and I have another qorbiter on my core for my desktop skin, so poetry sure it didn't just go to the core and which device id to use.  Should I try deleting the config file and app, then reinstall?
37  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Android QOrbiter on: February 12, 2012, 05:58:00 pm
Here it is on my galaxy sII skyrocket:

And

I too deleted the one I had installed previously and pulled the one from the market.  FWIW, the picture only fills the tip left portion of my screen.
38  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: 1wire support on: February 12, 2012, 06:32:56 am
if you can't even read them out with owfs, you probably have a short circuit on the bus..

How else do I check for this?  I have (2) of the LinkUSBi's, (5) temperature sensors and a pile of cat5 cables...  tried both LinkUSBi's and 3 of the temperature sensors.  The usb device appears in the log file as posted above, but cannot get my temperature sensors to load.

Thanks

Edit:
I tried adding a MD to see if I had the same experiences as others- that the sensors would start populating.  Unfortunately, it's been 6+ hours and while my device is spawned, no such luck with the sensors:
Code:
1 02/12/12 20:14:23 124 (spawning-device) Starting... 1
1 02/12/12 20:14:23 124 (spawning-device) Found /usr/pluto/bin/OneWire

39  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: 1wire support on: February 11, 2012, 08:43:44 am
If you go into the web admin pages -> show devices tree -> 1wire and then click on "view whole log", I have a couple errors:

Code:
01 02/11/12 1:33:42.167 TranslateSerialUSB pci0000:00/0000:00:13.0+1 result /dev/ttyUSB2 <0xb78686d0>
01 02/11/12 1:33:42.167 Opening port: /dev/ttyUSB2 <0xb78686d0>>

lsusb gives me this:
Code:
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 0403:6001 Future Technology Devices International, Ltd FT232 USB-Serial (UART) IC

dmesg gives me this:
Code:
[  785.564300] ftdi_sio 5-1:1.0: FTDI USB Serial Device converter detected
[  785.564371] usb 5-1: Detected FT232RL

Any idea why my temperature probes aren't discovered?
40  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: 1-Wire Deployment on: February 08, 2012, 07:13:48 pm
Not quite this far, but I too have cat6a running through the house and would like to use that vs running new wire.  I was planning on following this wiring scheme:
http://www.hobby-boards.com/catalog/howto_wiring_diagram.php

Which seems like you're going to need at least 5 wires (data to and from, power to and from and then a ground).  Although you're probably don't need the return power & ground and instead just have a floating ground (my hope).
41  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: 1wire support on: February 08, 2012, 07:07:43 pm
I have mine (1wire usb and temp sensors) scheduled for delivery today from ibuttonlink that twodogs linked above.  I'm running 1004 with all but the updates released today.  I was going to apt-get update && apt-get upgrade before plugging in the device to see if I have the same experiences.

I ran this command last night:
Code:
dpkg --get-selections | grep libowfs

And as expected do not have libowfs installed as I currently dont' have any 1wire devices.

Is there anything else someone would like me to try before I plug in the device?  Or any log files to tail to watch for errors?

I just did an apt-get update && apt-get upgrade and then created the MD.  I then tried copying the code from the 1st post into a new Utils.sh file and rebuilt the MD.  Any thoughts?  Running 10.04 with latest updates.

EDIT:
I ran this as mentioned by Roman previously:
Code:
I did
 dpkg -l '*fglrx*'

then
  sudo apt-get remove --purge xorg-driver-fglrx fglrx*
  sudo apt-get install --reinstall libgl1-mesa-glx libgl1-mesa-dri fglrx-modaliases
  sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

then
   sudo apt-get install --reinstall xserver-xorg-core

and then I rebooted the Moon.

Doing so brought up the AVWizard after bootup.

I now have a xorg.conf and this is what's in it:
Code:

Hmm... going to give up on getting this centered for now and going to work on a weather plugin...  this is about the current status:
http://imgur.com/QWRrw

As you rotate the icons at the top to go to the different main menu items (media, sound, telephony, etc) it loads up the submenu items that apply to 1) that main menu item, 2) that user and 3) that room.

As you can see, the icons at the bottom aren't centered...  I've also found that my circle is too large and it makes it difficult to switch between main menu items, so looking to change that.

The solution to my question before is here:
Code:
            PathView {
                anchors.fill: parent
                anchors.horizontalCenter: parent.horizontalCenter
//                model: ContactModel {}
                model: contactModel
                delegate: delegate

                path: Path {
                    startX: style.orbiterW/6-25; startY: 100
                    PathAttribute { name: "iconScale"; value: 1.5 }
                    PathAttribute { name: "iconOpacity"; value: 1.0 }
                    PathQuad { x: style.orbiterW/6-25; y: 0; controlX: style.orbiterW/6-style.orbiterW/1.5; controlY: 50 }
                    PathAttribute { name: "iconScale"; value: 0.3 }
                    PathAttribute { name: "iconOpacity"; value: 0.0 }
//                    PathPercent { value: 0.50 }
                    PathQuad { x: style.orbiterW/6-25; y: 100; controlX: style.orbiterW/6+style.orbiterW/1.5; controlY: 50 }
//                    PathPercent { value: 0.50 }

                }

                onCurrentIndexChanged: {
                    console.log(currentIndex, contactModel.get(currentIndex).location);
                    menuLoader.source = contactModel.get(currentIndex).location;
                }

The last bit especially takes your current position (index) in the pathview (as an integer) and looks to the list items to see which item to pull up:
Code:
                onCurrentIndexChanged: {
                    console.log(currentIndex, contactModel.get(currentIndex).location);
                    menuLoader.source = contactModel.get(currentIndex).location;
                }

Should probably jump on IRC for this, but trying this first...  spent a couple hours trying to figure out how to get this to work and now asking for help:

I have a simple pathview at the top that loads the different menu options into a (currently) ellipse shape where the icons at the front are larger and visible and get smaller and transparent as they are rotated to the back.  Still playing with different shapes and for now am just using the icons from the basic layout for convenience.

My issue is that I would like the submenu options (e.g. "TV", "Audio", "Video", etc) buttons to appear in the middle of the screen when the appropriate menu is at the forefront of the pathview.  In other works, if the user rotates the pathview to "Media", I want the media options to be presented in the middle of the screen.

Right now the main menu items are pulled from a separate ContactMenu.qml file,  but I think my issue is at the bottom of this code in the MouseArea portion.  Clearly I don't have any code to populate a space as I was for now just trying to change the text color of the menu items to make sure I understood how the mouse area code works:

Code:
       Rectangle {
            width: scaleX(100)/3; height: scaleY(100)/4
            anchors.horizontalCenter: stage.horizontalCenter
            color: "transparent"

            Component {
                id: delegate
                Item {
                    width: 80; height: 80
                    scale: PathView.iconScale
                    opacity: PathView.iconOpacity
                    Column {
                        Image { anchors.horizontalCenter: nameText.horizontalCenter; width: 64; height: 64; source: icon }
                        Text { id: nameText; text: name; font.pointSize: 16; color: "white"}
                    }
                }
            }

            PathView {
                Keys.onRightPressed: if (!moving) { incrementCurrentIndex(); console.log(moving) }
                Keys.onLeftPressed: if (!moving) decrementCurrentIndex()
                anchors.fill: parent
                model: ContactModel {}
                delegate: delegate
                path: Path {
                    startX: style.orbiterW/6-25; startY: 100
                    PathAttribute { name: "iconScale"; value: 1.5 }
                    PathAttribute { name: "iconOpacity"; value: 1.0 }
                    PathQuad { x: style.orbiterW/6-25; y: 0; controlX: style.orbiterW/6-style.orbiterW/1.5; controlY: 50 }
                    PathAttribute { name: "iconScale"; value: 0.3 }
                    PathAttribute { name: "iconOpacity"; value: 0.0 }
//                    PathPercent { value: 0.50 }
                    PathQuad { x: style.orbiterW/6-25; y: 100; controlX: style.orbiterW/6+style.orbiterW/1.5; controlY: 50 }
//                    PathPercent { value: 0.50 }
                }
                MouseArea {
                    anchors.fill: parent
                    onClicked: { delegate.nameText.color = 'red' }
                }
            }
        }

Any ideas?

TIA-
