Tried your suggestion of disabling the firewall - doesn't work. Any other ideas?

Thanks Colin, I'll try this tonight when I'm home. The external IP is a public internet address.

I'm using SIAX on my iphone as an extension in linuxmce and am experiencing a strange situation.

When using the iphone over wifi (connected to internal linuxmce network) I must use 192.168.80.1 as the host name to register. If I use the internet IP address of my core, i get no registration (asterisk CLI shows nada in the way of connection attempts).

When using the iphone on 3G, using the internet IP address of my core works. Since obviously using 192.168.80.1 when connected via 3G won't work, this means I have to switch the server name each time I go on and off wifi.

Any ideas why I can't use the internet IP when inside the linuxmce network?

I'm in about the same predicament. My girlfriend's co-worker is an iphone app developer... maybe i'll see if I can entice him.

Ok, I suppose I asked for that  ::) However 95,300 hits  :-[ I was kind of hoping for a set of instructions that someone had verified worked. (I've followed MANY HowTos that don't work in the end!  >:()Never mind, thanks for the lead - I'll return IF I manage to get something working!

Not sure if you're being sarcastic. As I understand it, it's illegal to install MacOSX on pc hardware (partly due to DMCA). If it happened by fluke however, you'd be off the hook.

Supposing your hardware happened to be supported by OSx86, and some electromagnetic interference happened to arrange the bits in one of your hard drives to mirror one such distribution...

All your lmce devices must be on the internal network to function, but I understand you can have devices on the external network that do not rely on lmce for internet.

Users / Method for selecting new features for implementation

I think we need something more sophisticated than the web forum polls to determine feature priorities. Supposing we used a matrix like in the attached?

0 means will not contribute to
1 means will contribute, but least wanted.
...
10 means will contribute, and most wanted.
A number can be used only once per voter.

I have one, but find it cumbersome to use due to having a small TV, even with sensitivity turned way down. I much prefer the windows orbiter on my labtop.

One thing I miss when using the windows orbiter is continuous absolute-control of volume and lighting that is made possible by the Fiire. Would be great if I could have the best of both worlds.

Isn't there a wiki guide for tagging conventions that explains this? If not, should we have one?

I'd contribute to that too Ray_N.

how much do you spend on a night out?

What's this thing called a "night out"? Come on, you're talking to a Linux crowd here :P

I'm not sure I'd hire anyone to do a full install, but if Thom is willing to do support work for money I might very well use him. As it stands he is too busy to give a full detailed answer in the IRC channel, but if one could get his undivided attention for a reasonable hourly fee I'd probably make use of that now and then.

Well said krys. I agree with 1 and 3 especially.

I'd contribute for a native iphone orbiter that works on jailbroken iphones.

I'd contribute for a UI1 orbiter with a continuous volume/lighting control (though I think I read this is a lot of work or even impractical)

I'd contribute for an improved UI for tagging media (with powerful sorting filters) which would streamline the tagging process.
