With that said, I'll leave it alone. It's your forum.

dlewis,

That definitely make more sense. However in this thread, there wasn't any particular issue to be resolved
it was meant to foster an open dialogue about how people approach this forum or any other forum for that matter.
All participants, moderators and all. Do your homework and be patient with the less advanced users.

Really guys, shutdown a thread just because you think it hasn't been useful?
Are we curing cancer here?

You guys just proved my point, "Tough Love In This Forum"

Hi,

I think the Asus M3A78-EM comes with an onboard ATI Radeon HD 3200 VGA card, are you using the onboard
VGA? cause if you are, you're in for a lot of frustrations. ATI cards are not supported right out of the box in Linux MCE
but with a bit of tweaking, you can make it work albeit with UI1 not UI2 / overlay.
You're better off bying and NVIDIA card. It's all here. http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Category:Graphic_Cards

Hi,

I just copied a .avi file to my /home/public/data/videos directory and it appeared in my videos list right away.
Anyone else having this problem?

Hey guys,

This is definitely the way to go then. Let me also point out that this thing boots
off of SD and CF cards, so in theory the boot image can reside anywhere,as long
as the bios can include the storage device in the boot device tree.
This is looking very promising. Thanks guys.

Yes they are not cheap. But some folks can afford it. I've emailed Tammy, one of their sales reps about pricing. I'm waiting to hear
from her. Will report back here,

Hi compaqpresario,

Here's a suggestion, Go to your Core/Hybrid, access your KDE desktop.
Once in KDE, go to = stert menu - system - Kinfo center. Look for network interfaces.
And make sure that both your NICS are present, You should see :
eth0
eth1
lo

By looking at your ifconfig file, I can see that your eth1 is missing. Try to reinitialize it
or perhaps your second NIC carries an unsupported chip. Hope this points you in the right direction.

Hi Andrew,

I will definitely test this unit to the max. Waiting for the one with 512 MB of Ram.
Will certainly PXE boot it to see how it performs. Thx for the input guys.
