Installation issues / Re: Volume Control in other rooms
« on: October 15, 2010, 06:07:14 pm »
Hi Thom

Had a look but I have no idea what I'm doing in there.

I wish I could, because I have been playing with LMCE for about 3 years now, I know were most of the bugs are, but I cannot fix them.

Installation issues / Volume Control in other rooms
« on: October 04, 2010, 10:15:51 pm »
Hi All

I have a question on the volume control when viewing a shared PVR Decoder in another room.

I have a Core-Hybrid in my TV Room, It is connected to a LG LCD via HDMI and to a PVR Sat Decoder via Composite through a PVR150 CARD. The Decoder  is also connected to the LG via HDMI.

In the Bedroom I have a MD also connected to a LG LCD via HDMI.

When viewing the PVR decoder from the bedroom the volume in the bedroom is not adjustable.
If I tail the DCEROUTER log it is trying to increase the volume in the TV room on the PVR Sat Decoder and not in the bedroom on the LG. (A bit pointless)
The only way to control the volume in the bedroom is to go to the floor plan select the bedroom and adjust the volume there.

Also if a use an wireless orbiter and not a MCE remote in the bedroom, the buttons on screen are not in the right place and there are NO volume buttons at all.

Do I need to set something elsewhere to tell it to adjust volume in the room playing the media?

Its a bit strange that when viewing any other media it works fine but not when viewing a shared PVR/Sat decoder.

Users / Re: Need assistance with LG Template (20LS7D (RS232) #1915)
« on: September 18, 2010, 04:49:40 pm »
Hi Rukus

I had the same issue yesterday, use the template on the Wiki http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/LG_42LB5D.

Just remember to change the number 158 with your LG's device number.

Hi joerod

Just check if the zaptel modules are install, if not "apt-get install zaptel-modules-2.6.27-17-generic" and add ztdummy to your /etc/modules file.

Installation issues / Snapshot 23259
« on: August 27, 2010, 06:50:03 pm »
This snapshot installs very cleanly

A few issues with the last couple of snapshots including this one.

1. Zaptel modules do not get installed and once manually installed needs to be added to "/etc/modules"
2. Asterisk scripts now almost perfect except for the permissions thing. we need to add:

AMPASTERISKUSER=www-data and AMPASTERISKGROUP=asterisk to the /etc/amportal file.

AND Change the line in sync_pluto2amp.pl

FROM

`chown asterisk.asterisk /usr/share/asterisk/agi-bin/* /etc/asterisk/*`;

TO

`chown asterisk.asterisk /usr/share/asterisk/agi-bin/* /etc/asterisk/*`;
`chown www-data.asterisk /usr/share/asterisk/agi-bin/*`;

AND

we need to remove sip.conf, iax.conf and extensions.conf from /etc/asterisk folder.

unless someone has another way around it.

     ERROR 1146 (42S02) at line 1: Table 'mythconverg.settings' doesn't exist
     ERROR 1146 (42S02) at line 1: Table 'mythconverg.settings' doesn't exist

     DBD::mysql::st execute failed: Table 'mythconverg.storagegroup' doesn't exist at /usr/pluto/bin/mythtv_setup.pl line 26

(2) Zaptel Modules not automatically installed (no speak in house)

Installation issues / Re: Logitech MX Air
« on: August 16, 2010, 10:10:40 am »
Hi There

The Keyboard was about $70.

Thanks Techstyle for pointing me to that post, I was trying to map 4 and 5 like the MX Air.
4,115=2,73
5,115=3,73

Once I did it to 2 and 3 it work great.
2,115=2,73
3,115=3,73

I'm in South Africa, so I don't know if it will help but its from Pinnacle.

But the big issue is the F7 function, its useless without it.

Hi Sambuca

My apologies, I reinstalled with the snapshot Dated 2 August and all the buttons work perfectly.

I did however find a fantastic little Air Keyboard by Cideko http://www.cideko.com/pro_con.php?id=3. It’s cheap and works almost perfectly. There are no Function buttons but the multimedia buttons all work. The only thing missing once again my personal nightmare, the F7 function. It has a few extra buttons (www, mail, pc, magnify, calc windows key) which are events 178, 236, 26, 41, 161 and 115.

I created a new template following the "Creating a Device Template for a Remote that uses the kernel input subsystem" wiki and the MX Air Template and mapped the keys codes accordingly.

But it doesn't work, is there anything else I need to do it check?

Just an update on my problem, I tried remapping F7 to buttons 4 and 5 but with the same result. It seems that it only know buttons 1and 3.

As far as the F6 and F8 buttons are concerned, they are mapped to events 160 and 162 and not to buttons.

Thanks anyway, will keep checking.

The back button is the only problem, all the other buttons and the motion sense work perfectly.
