Users / MythTV Iptv in 8.10 query
« on: November 18, 2009, 05:41:13 pm »
I've got IPTV with a Amino settop box and ethernet plugged into it.  I was wondering if anyone has any information in this area and whether this or something similar might work with LMCE:

What kind of capture card should I get, as well?

Thanks,

Users / Gyration volume control issue
« on: November 14, 2009, 12:12:35 am »
I was just trying to get a status on this (I searched in the forums first).  I can control my Denon Amplifier's volume using the submit commands in the Web GUI for the AVC template so I know that communication's working fine.  However, I cannot use the volume control on my gyration remote like I could in 710.   I wanted to know if I'm doing something wrong or that I cannot do this on the Core like I could in 710.  It does work from an Orbiter.

Installation issues / No media appears under main menu item "Media"
« on: June 14, 2009, 01:22:57 am »
After installing 810, having it detect my NAS and Windows Share properly and seeing all my audio and vid files in media explorer, I only see this when I click on Media from main screen:

Floorplan

How do I get Audio, Video, etc. to appear there like it should be?  I tried recreating the room using the wizard, same thing.

I'm getting a Segfault in my logs too:

UpdateEntArea[32590]: segfault at 2c ip b7a1ded0 sp bfdf2270 error 4 in libpluto_main.so

Installation issues / How to connect Vizio L32 to Core
« on: April 21, 2009, 08:18:57 pm »
I've got my Denon receiver now with RS232 port and I know how that connects to the Core, but how do I get my LCD TV to connect?  I'm running an HDMI cable for the video already so there are no more HDMI ports.  It does not have an RS232 input.  I do have an S/PDIF out port on my mobo and all the other standard connection on the LCD TV, just not RS232.

Anyone clarify this?

Thanks,

My box has been stable, but during video playback last night the screen froze (audio continued) and the Xorg and OrbiterGL processes were jumping up to 90% + CPU utilization, so I rebooted.  This is what I get in the logs:

I'm running DVD 710 and have a BFG GeForce 7300GS OC video card with newest NV drivers.  Anyone know how to resolve this?

Users / Pluto Orbiter question-Web Bookmarks
« on: April 05, 2009, 02:52:39 am »
When I open up Pluto Orbiter and I'm in UI1 on my laptop I have an issue when I pull up "Computing, Web Bookmarks" and I try to connect to any of the Web Bookmarks.  As soon as I do, I get "Mouse" and then Left + Right buttons below that, so I can't connect to any of the default Web Bookmarks.  All Web Bookmarks buttons throw this up.  Is this because I don't have a mouse connected to my laptop...?  I use the touchpad.  I've searched high and low and there's nothing in the forums or Wiki.

I think ztdummy's somehow causing my syslog to fill up with these errors:  "rtc: lost some interrupts at 1024Hz"...eventually hanging the box.  The consensus is that disabling HPET in the bios will help...not for me.  Clean DVD install.

Thanks,

My kids think it's really cool that we've got Internet now on our TV and as such I can't keep them off it.  I searched the forums, etc. before posting.  Is there any way to set up a screen saver for this particular purpose?

Users / Two small issues with LCD TV
« on: March 17, 2009, 06:21:32 pm »
I'm up and running now but was wondering why when I run the AV setup wizard for Vid and Sound that I can only select 480p when my Vizio set is supposed to support 1080i.  What does that mean when the Wizard won't accept that config and flashes back for me to make another selection?  I've got all the right drivers installed.  This set is supposed to support 1366 X 768....

The next issue is that even at the command line (outside of X, and inside X) my screen needs to go a half inch to the right.  If I go into my TV's menu settings for RGB it does allow me to change the size; it does not with HDMI input.  Is there any way to overcome this limitation because this is driving me crazy and I have to use the DVI to HDMI connection.

Thanks for everyone's help thus far.

Installation issues / Video issues using BFG Nvidia 7600GT
« on: March 16, 2009, 04:21:07 pm »
I've tried to install LMCE from the DVD, and then went with the separate components installation.  I've only seen the Flickr media and vertical buttons once....then it went away after I rebooted.

I always just get static buttons on the screen.  I'm guessing this is due to my video settings...but how do I fix it?  I've run the Audio + Vid wizard many times and can't it to the correct resolution.  I've been through the FAQ, the Forums, etc.  I'm running the Nvidia driver and verified it through Pluto-Admin.  I also set it in Kubuntu, to use the Nvidia driver.   Should I get another Vid card?

The biggest issue is the static buttons.

Installation issues / Question about accessing Video Files from Nas
« on: March 14, 2009, 09:06:35 am »
I have a Core installed and connected to my TV.  Further I've got FreeNAS installed in a desigated room and I can pull up Video files using Kbuntu and watch them, no problem.  Shouldn't I be able to pull up Videos from the Core box connected to my TV?  I can't seem to see how...

Thanks,
Uni
