That should have installed a newer db_phone_config.sh script with the additional entries in the config.  If it did not you may need to clear your apt cache and try the reinstall again.

No, apt-get report did no report held back.

Try:

Code:
apt-get install --reinstall lmce-asterisk

Jamo,

The UIRT is working properly passing commands.  And the ScreenType is being sent.

Source code is in the lmce svn, feel free to have a look.  It's not like this just wouldn't work for one person though.  This works for everyone right now, except in certain cases where the ScreenType is not set properly.  I would look at the device template initially, then did you make any alterations to your database?

Definitely the remotemapping is not being set they way it should be.  But I'm in new territory here.

This is what i have in my db_phone_config.sh. The last apt-get update && upgrade is three days ago.

It's different from yours.

Your db_phone_config.sh is a 5 month old version.  Did apt-get report any packages held back?

Okay, a couple questions.

Was this the game pad that you were using to navigate and select from the menu?  Or something else?
Is this the machine that has the 3101 and the gamepad and the UIRT?

I only see a single Set_Screen_Type command being sent to the UIRT device.

Audio:
out - MD HD Intel 3.5mm
in - Sharp LCD TV - 3.5mm (paired with video signal from HDMI 6)
out - Sharp LCD TV - Red & White phono jacks
in - Sony STR-K850 Receiver

*Usually* your audio would be connected directly to your receiver, not through the television.  How have you mapped the devices in the Connection Wizard?

Do you have a device template with volume commands defined for the receiver?

My TV responds to PWR1 commands and all other commands such as change input, volume etc.  Occassionally however although the TV's onscreen display registers volume changes, the speaker volume does not change.

Sounds like bug in the TV.   Tongue

There is a setting on the TV that changes audio output from fixed to variable which I have selected.  This when working is preferable as I can see on-screen evidence that my command was received.  Though I am sure it is more technical, it seems as though the TV is sending audio at different volume? to the receiver, making the volume at the 5.1 speakers go up or down without the receiver volume setting changing.

That is correct.  Nothing much more technical about it than that.

Through the resend A/V codes menu I have found that when the on-screen displayed volume does not move with the speaker volume, I can send the code "process initialize" to re-sync everything.  Sending this code resets the TV onscreen display volume to 24 and for the next few hours makes the audio commands work as desired.  This does not fix it permanently however and I hate pressing buttons I don't understand like this.  Is anyone familiar with A/V console commands who could offer me some assistance or explanation of what "process initialize" is actually doing?

What device template # did you use?   Wink

Lets keep this to the machine you're having issues with.

The game pad should not be treated as a remote while game_player is running.  This could be due to lack of a device template (with default button mappings causing you issue) or it could be because Set_Screen_Type commands are not reaching each of your IR devices.

The issue I am tracing is the multiple 'IR' devices that you have connected to the MD machine (3101, UIRT, Game_Pad, yes they are all 'IR category' devices).  And whether or not appropriate 'Set Screen Type' commands are reaching all of the devices.

Can you pastebin your DCERouter.log from just a bit before you launch game_player and up until you are utilizing the game pad?

Hrmph.  Okay, that leads me to believe we've got seperate issues.  Lets work yours through again.  I see a command being sent from the UIRT to the Media Plugin.

The incorrect command is being sent from your UIRT to the Media Plug-in to cause the list to scroll.  When my system scrolls the list it sends a 'Simulate Keypress' command.  Yours is sending the 'Jump Position In Playlist' command,  which is the 'track forward' command that would be sent to a playback device.

Hmm.  After looking at your logs and comparing them to mine, I think that button mapping/screen types are not set correctly in your template.  I've never touched an IR remote template so I'm in new territory there.  The screen type is being set and button presses are being passed to the Media Plug-in.  So, lets look at the template.

I have had good success with usb devices under virtualbox, as long as their data rates are not too high.

recommendation? (i.e. stripped-out version/alternative)

Look at mythbuntu standalone or in combination with xbmc.

Hello there, thanks for testing!

I'm glad that you have made it to the moonpi login.  That is as far as automatic setup takes you, at this point.  I expect to have automatic setup for MD functionality (without Audio/Video) working within a couple weeks and then I will be working on A/V playback.  Stay tuned!

I expect the .deb will work for you.  However, it is not the 'proper' final solution.  A step on the way to finding the actual problem.  I was seeing common issues on hybrids and thought it may be isolated to hybrids, your issue shoots that working theory but helps to narrow my search.

Let me know if it solves your issue and that will help me going forward.

Thanks jamo, that shoots down my working theory.

Is this happening on your core, an MD or both?
