Developers / Re: New pluto.conf option - IgnoreNetworking

I like the idea.  But it doesn't really deal with your reason, that's simply a firewall thing, lmce network setup is still necessary for those users.  Power users that have weird networking requirements would definitely benefit from such an option.  So... What is the reason?

Does armhf use the default diskless PXE kernel?

-Thom
There is a default kernel for arm devices, depending on device.

How does this 'blow' up the init rd?  Some more details would be helpful, many scripts have already been updated.  Please provide specific instructions to recreate whatever issue you are having.  Thanks.

Please do not change anything even remotely related to diskless booting without thorough testing on arm and all targets.  Feedback is appreciated.  This is an old option.

If you're not running 1404 what version are you running?  I assume you're trying to use it for an md phone?  Lmce HAL detects mine fine but I'm not using it for md phone atm.  It looks like the naming has changed.  Please give me some more details about your installing.  Thanks.

The orbiter size can be selected in webadmin and then the orbiter can be regen'd.

Has the DVD playback bug been fixed?  The id worked but playing fails due to dvdcss timing out as EMI would continuously try to id the disk.  Had to do with return data not being correct after the id.  Anyways, wondering if that's been fixed, if it has I'll try to test it.

Installation issues / Re: Diskless Client MythTV Setup
« on: February 12, 2017, 09:09:57 pm »
Upon starting MythTV on my new diskless client, I was taken to the language setup screen but could not seem to escape from this configuration step without hitting cancel. There was no way to watch TV or recordings with MythTV.

Doing some research, I followed the instructions here:

http://askubuntu.com/questions/347967/mythtv-cannot-connect-to-database

They required me to enter the IP address of the core in some configuration files and to manually copy the database password from the core to the relevant files for the diskless MD.

All is good now but I think that this should have happened automatically, as part of the install, as it has with historical versions of LMCE.

Should I submit a ticket for this?

CDM
this was all working but myth keeps on moving the target.  No one is maintaining myth here atm.  Feel free to create a ticket and feel free to fix it.  :)

I wouldn't worry about the id for your card yet.  Find the bit where it determines the driver and set them all to nvidia-340.

The Nvidia install works perfectly with modern cards (no issues here).  It's not the image, the image boots fine.  It's the Nvidia driver install that is breaking things (as best i can tell).  You might try editing the nvidia-install.sh script and tell it to use an older version of the drivers.  If that works then a permanent workaround could be made.

Pull the Nvidia card out.  Try with the Intel drivers on the i3.  That's my best suggestion atm.

Not likely, is all Ubuntu stuff that deals with the kernels.  The Nvidia install would trigger an initrd rebuild...  which may be failing.
