Users / Re: How to remove duplicate entries in the video database?
« on: June 01, 2010, 05:32:34 pm »
Okay new info I got a second hard drive that I have only media on. I tried to follow the file structure so I made a directory /home/public/data/Movies so now on the onscreen orbiter I select videos and I have a duplicate entries with just about every movie. when I click on them one is /mnt/device/40/home/public/data/Movies and the other one comes up as File: PUBLIC : other/ST3750330AS (sda1) on dcerouter [40]/home/public/data/Movies/ is there a way I can delete the later.

I have been at it all day I have most of them gone so far (duplicate file entries). My new question would be that I go into Media Files Sync in the webadmin and none of my video files appear to have a check mark meaning that the are not in the database only on the disk. I run coverart on alot of them and then resyncronized the folder that I am in and then I want to "show only without coverart" and nothing. The folder with all the files on it is on a second harddrive. The directory is /mnt/device/40/home/public/data/Movies  am  I suppose to have a symlink to this folder from my primary drive  /home/public/data/videos. I appreciate all the help so far guys its been a bit of a learning curve .

Yes they do have the same path. I will try that. Thanks for the help. I will update thread.

so just put them in the same directory as the movies then.

Users / How to remove duplicate entries in the video database?
« on: May 26, 2010, 05:39:19 pm »
I now have duplicate video entries in the database. I would like to delete them so I only have 1. I am not sure if I need to do this in mysql or if there is script or the web admin. Sorry for all the weird questions today I am almost done this system and would like to complete it asap. I work on it everyday before I have to go to work. The WAF (wife annoyance factor) is at defcon 4 and rising thanks for all your help.

I have been trying to search my system and google but, I can't see where I should look. I have built a new system with new hard drives and I originallly stored my .id3 tags and I would like to import them back into system. I am not sure if this will work but, I want to try. So if you could please tell me all the locations where the .id3 tags are and how I update the database so I don't have to do all this again. Thank you. If this is a really easy answer I apologize I have been looking though.

Users / How to prepare hard drive and media to add to system?
« on: May 15, 2010, 07:29:40 pm »
I would like to transfer all my movies from my windows 7 pc to a hard drive. I would like to prepare the drive first then add to the system. I have the system up and running and I have media on my pc  and I want to format the hd and add my media (ie movies, and music) to the drive then after add it to my hybrid. This would be the easiest and fastest way to add to this drive without sending over my router. Unless anyone has a better idea I am all ears. Thanks in advance.

Again I am trying to install 0810 and I am trying the web install but, when I run ./mce-install.sh I start to have problems with broken links when it starts to install fonts I run into problems cdnetworks-us-2.dl.sourceforge.net it can't resolve and then I get a whole bunch of "Installing infoservices -Unable to connect to manager 127.0.0.1 - Connection refused. Is this normal or is this something I should be looking into. I will let you know if it installs but, I am still interested in resolving these issues. I need this to be reliable as well. Although I haven't got it installed in 3 months working on it. I had the basic UI on but, I didn't install any of the devices yet.

how about this one "Could not write to openty () failed (/dev/pts not mounted)

Users / Re: DVD Collection Management - Boxed sets and Cover art

I mean, say I tag my movies save the id3 tag and then say I save the folder and zip it and send it to say you and you use the tags for movies that you have update the database and voila save hours upon hours of work. I don't know if this is possible but, when I rebuilt this system I save all my id3's and imported them into new system. Or if you know of a way that I can edit id3 tags for video in windows. There are tons of programs for mp3 id3 tags but, I can't find any for video.

I just installed Kubuntu 0810 and tried the network install when I run ./mce-install.sh it finishes with error msg.

I am trying to build a hybrid, I did run the Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh and no luck I will try to check the logs and see if there is something that will point to a possible solution. "

Did I mention that I get this error on the windows orbiter as well. I have tried almost every possible combination. I even went back and made sure to burn the DVD at 4x. I run the cd check on 0810beta 2 and it comes up with 152 files have errors.I tried to download another .iso and I get the same thing.
