Follow-up:
Thanks again Armor Gnome,... Looks like the Glossary is off to a good start now...
Your contributions have been reformatted/edited and put into the correct (I hope) Alpha sort. I fleshed out one or two of them.
I've designated the bottom of the page as a place to dump bulk text prior to formatting and sorting, so that it can be done efficiently. In the future, we can probably dispense with that.

Beautiful!!! I'll work on getting them integrated into the Glossary,... Then after work on building internal/external links...
PS: I like your use of a dash between the terms that are anagrams and the definition versus the wordy method I used on the first three definitions... I think I'll switch to that on what I've done...

The goal is a place to send new users who are unfamiliar with things (like what the various video resolutions are, what ATSC, NTSC are, etc.) and can (and prefer to) look them up on their own... along with links to the relevant parts of the wiki...
But if people want to contribute terminology in this thread,... I'm all for that. I'll be adding a few terms tonight/this weekend, and building from there.

LinuxMCE / Wiki / Started a Glossary page on the Wiki

I started a glossary page on the wiki, for explaining basic terms to new users, especially those unfamiliar with media centers, home automation, etc.
It can be found by searching for the word, "Glossary," in the search field on the wiki.
There is no substantive content there yet. The idea is to explain things like; what 1080p is, what an ATA is, what DHCP is in very basic terms, what a network switch is, what a script is, what the various wireless standards are (and maybe the frequencies they operate at in various countries), etc.
Ideally, it shouldn't be a place for editorializing. But rather it should be; simple, factual explanations of things that the uninitiated may not know. Internal & external links should be encouraged.
I figured it would be a good idea. Please contribute. Thanks.

More questions for you... As per Maverick0815 and Schmich,... - Version of LinuxMCE & how was it installed?
- Is this the Core/Hybrid?
- Are you using a cable provider or OTA (over the air)?
- Do you have a Schedules Direct account?
- If yes to Sched. Direct & cable,... what does the Sched. Direct website have to say about your channels list?
- When your scan is complete, what does the channels data look like (you can see channels in the MythTV setup screens & the MythTV web config,... not to be confused with the LinuxMCE web admin.)?
- Have you altered any data in the MythTV setup,... like IP address? (You should probably let the Wizard do this for you)
If you let us know the above info, we may be able to help. I don't think a re-install is the answer. Thanks...

I don't necessarily think it's the software. I think it might be the channels configuration, which is different. If you have a Schedules Direct account, many times the (cable) channels lists are not provided with the frequencies you need to match them up... In which case you get problems...

I would see that same error when I had incorrectly configured channels... For a lot of Cable Co.'s you need to do some manual tweaking to make the channels configuration work. Even when you had most of them set up correct, you'd still get dropped out if you attempted to lock onto a badly configured one...

From what I've seen in pics,... The unit has a standard wall-wort type charger, but can also be charged via it's bottom connector. Plus I think the wall-wort plug input is up near the top of the unit... no convenient. I think Armor Gnome is looking to do a charging while docked thing.

Don't know about the memory controllers, and I don't know if that'd be your bottleneck ,... But you might want to consider making the second nic a high speed/good quality Intel chipset card using the high speed PCI express bus/slot that you might normally have put the graphics card in. Something like this: http://www.cpusolutions.com/store/pc/Intel-Gigabit-CT-Desktop-Adapter-PCI-Express-1-x-RJ-45-10-100-1000Base-T-Internal-p1523.htm?gclid=CJ2pt-nf8bECFUFx4AodxikATAPersonally, as far as even MDs go the middling range of graphics chipsets, even the Intel ones (excepting the PowerVR based ones, if course), are powerful enough to handle 99% of what you'd be throwing at it as a relatively well performing MD. A 3-4 year old Intel GMA 3150 might choke with 1080p playback with the Xine engine (but 90% of content is 720p or lower)... The UI doesn't tax the system much. Beneficial things would be hardware decoder support for media playback, vdpau, etc., more so than triangles per second. Of course, high end graphics cards usually have that too. I'd also consider pulling the HDs from the MDs,... modest power savings, but more importantly, less heat (MDs are often tucked away). And why waste the drives? Store 'em for later use...

KDE's not being called up unless you select it from the menu. The only resource it takes up, then, is the hard drive spacemon the Core. That's what Posde was saying.
