I am trying to follow the wiki to install the games. In the plugin instructions I get stuck:

Here is what I do and the messages I got. Basically the file that I try to copy in the last command is not there.

Is there anyone who has an idea why this happend.

Something that I had to change from the instructions is that to get to the directory MAME_PlugIn i had to alter the command

cd ../../MAME_PlugIn  INTO ==> cd ../MAME_PlugIn

Why don´t you check the webpage. If it can recognize your button it is just two clicks to get F6 en F8 programmed.

Over the last few weeks I got to know LinuxMCE a bit better. It is time to build a system now that fits in my living-room. I have found the following motherboard. I know that nvidia is prefered over ATI. But what about the video chip that is on this board ?

Secondly is there anyone that knows reasons why I should not go for this board ?

Want to use UI2 with overlay and s-video output.

In stead of copying all the specs I add a direct link to the motherboard and only give the main information that I thought is most important.

I am not sure about that mouse. I am using a logitech AIR MX. I was not able to get it to work as described on the wiki, but you could try that first:
http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Use_Additional_Mouse_Buttons

not sure why it didn´t work for me. After some research I used a piece of software. This was very easy to setup.

Hope you get it to work soon as it is a brilliant way of controlling your system

Users / Re: How to auto start programs on LMCE
« on: February 10, 2009, 11:28:54 am »
Just to renew the post I altered the subject.

I managed to get the right instruction as rc.local works when run from a console. Can I use rc.local in /etc ?

If the answer is yes how do I get it to run on my system.
If the answer is no could I add the line somewhere else so it will be run.

Just a question, I am trying to follow the discussion.

Is it possible already in 7.10 to change this behavior centrally for all Orbiters in the media plugin ?

23
Nice, discussion, but why do pictures play on your orbiter and not on the screen of the media director ?
 ??? ;D

I am wondering if I can change the current behavior of MCE a bit. When you add a song through the orbiter to your current playlist it starts to play right away. Is there a way to add it to the playlist without starting the song right away and continue the playing song.

Installation issues / Re: Tuner Card's not being detcted at install

Hi, I am still working to get my card working. I am first trying to get it to work in the KDE environment to see if it works there before trying in LMCE.

Is this already working for you?

I am using some help from the ubuntu forum. This is the post:

Users / Can I use rc.local in /etc to startup progs
« on: February 04, 2009, 06:10:37 pm »
I am using Hellanzb on my core. I want it to start at boot. I found a way to do this in linux. Will this work on LinuxMCE aswell or is there are better way of doing this on LMCE ?

Just add this line inside /etc/rc.local and change $HELLAUSER to whatever your username is.

 su -c '/usr/bin/screen -S hellanzb -d -m /usr/bin/python /usr/bin/hellanzb.py > /dev/null 2> /dev/null' $HELLAUSER

Can i use user linuxmce here or do they want another user ?

I do not have an answer for you but if I would look for advice on a different forum. I would ask my question on a hardware forum. In the Netherlands I use Tweakers.net but for sure there are several of these forums in your language. They will help you on al kinds of questions for your case.

Hope this brings you forward on you project as I think it is a brilliant solution. For example I first installed it on a desktop system to get familiar and take my time to look for a case that I like.

Success

Hi cool addition. It is pointing to a category printers that does not exist yet. Who could add a catergory printers to the wiki. I tried but I could not make a copy from the mainboards for example to create it.

Are you trying with User Interface 1 (UI1) in the AVwizard ?

Well, I am willing to help but half you are saying I am not familiar with. I would need a lot of guidance, but for sure I want to help and test this.

Let me know if you have time for doing this together.
