Users / web admin only allowing https? breaking imdb...
« on: January 03, 2011, 02:31:15 am »
After updating the core, I went to the web admin and found this:

Code: [Select]
Bad Request

I switch to https and it works, but this breaks imdb, which loads

Was this by design or did something get botched during the upgrade? I can't seem to find the setting or why this has changed.

Installation issues / Cannot get tricklestar to work! [SOLVED]
« on: July 31, 2010, 04:19:39 pm »
I decided to ditch my MCV dongle for tricklestar. I have been trying for 2 days to get my new tricklestar USB dongle working with LinuxMCE. I have followed the steps in the wiki, I have tried manually adding the template, I have tried adding the device ID and letting it auto-detect. The zwave device is always added but it doesn't work. When I did have it successfully starting and logging, it would not add devices. The light on the dongle is lit during the install but then it goes out, and stays out. Now, I get this message and nothing else after:

Any ideas, I am getting frustrated.

Users / Sick Beard and SABnzbd integration
« on: July 29, 2010, 09:18:20 pm »
Is anyone using SickBeard and/or SABnzbd? I am, and will be working on integrating it with LinuxMCE. If you haven't heard of it or aren't using it, you should check it out!

Thoughts/ideas? Anyone interested?

Installation issues / Latest snapshot is broken?! (Somewhat resolved)
« on: July 11, 2010, 06:40:33 pm »
I decided to blow away my core since it barely works and is never used, and install the latest snapshot. Everything was OK until the final stages of setup when mythtv was installed. The system is stuck on installing pluto-mythtv-plugin. I searched the forum and see others having similar problems, and have tried a few suggestions to get it to work with no success (Obviously the install should at least work on it's own). I am still trying and will update if/when I get everything up. Has anyone gotten the latest snapshot to install? Any suggestions?

Users / Restore is broken?
« on: March 19, 2010, 09:45:41 pm »
I installed a clean Core, and tried to do a restore. It did not work, just opened the admin page in it's frame. Is this known, any news?

Users / Can events dim a light only if the light is currently on
« on: March 17, 2010, 07:39:03 pm »
I need to create an event that sets a light level to 20, only if the light is currently at a level over 20. Is something like that possible? Some sort of IF statement?

I have tracked down a recording playback problem (very choppy, hanging video) to the mythtv upgrades.

The following packages were upgraded:
libmyth-0.22-0 (0.22.0-fixes23565-0ubuntu0 => 0.22.0-fixes23710-0ubuntu0)
mythtv-backend (0.22.0-fixes23565-0ubuntu0 => 0.22.0-fixes23710-0ubuntu0)
mythtv-common (0.22.0-fixes23565-0ubuntu0 => 0.22.0-fixes23710-0ubuntu0)
mythtv-database (0.22.0-fixes23565-0ubuntu0 => 0.22.0-fixes23710-0ubuntu0)
mythtv-frontend (0.22.0-fixes23565-0ubuntu0 => 0.22.0-fixes23710-0ubuntu0)
mythtv-transcode-utils (0.22.0-fixes23565-0ubuntu0 => 0.22.0-fixes23710-0ubuntu0)

After these packages were upgraded, and a show was recorded, I could not play the video. Once the packages were removed, I still could not watch the recordings, but new recordings play fine. Any ideas?

Developers / MythTV recordings and
« on: December 12, 2009, 05:18:37 am »
I have been tortured for a while regarding the Myth livetv and recorded tv paths, and how the recordings are treated in LMCE. As it currently stands, livetv that is recorded, is never put in LMCE due to the folderlock. Also, if recordings are deleted on an orbiter it screws up mythtv. Anyhow, I think I have a good solution. I have a livetv and recordings folder, and folderlock both. I then use to symlink the recording. Here is my

Code: [Select]

ln -sf $3/$4 $dir/$4
chown mythtv:public $dir/$4
chmod 755 $dir/$4

echo "messagesend" >> /var/log/savemythrecording.log
echo "$(date) $0-$1-$2-$dir-$4" >> /var/log/pluto/donerecording.log
/usr/pluto/bin/MessageSend dcerouter 0 -1001 2 69 29 "$1" 57 "$2" 35 "$dir/$4"

Here is the section of

Code: [Select]
#public storage groups
                CheckMythTVStorageGroup("/home/public/data/pvr/$Device_Description/Recordings","Default","$hostName");      #Put the special "Default" storage group in.
                CheckMythTVStorageGroup("/home/public/data/pvr/$Device_Description/livetv","LiveTV","$hostName");       #Put the special "LiveTV" storage group into the moons root pvr* directory
                CheckMythTVStorageGroup("/home/public/data/pvr/$Device_Description/Recordings","public: $Device_Description","$hostName");

I see all scheduled recordings and livetv recordings (hit the record button while watching livetv, or a scheduled recording fired while watching it live) in LMCE orbiter.

Anyone else think it is a good idea for release?

Users / [SOLVED] Strange behavior with web browsing on beta2 - big problem
« on: December 08, 2009, 08:03:53 pm »
I noticed that after beta2 install, I can no longer get to several web sites that I use regularly. Most of the pages are .asp, and they all give a "bad request" or connection reset error. I can get to the pages fine if I bypass the core.

A example site is

Anyone have an idea? I am completely lost on this one.

Users / Mythtv recordings are choppy in Xine
« on: December 07, 2009, 07:26:58 pm »
Since the upgrade to beta2, I notice that all of my HD recordings in Mythtv get choppy and/or stop for brief moments when played in Xine. Does this make sense to anyone that knows more about the changes in Beta2? It seems to me that the high quality/bitrate/size is too much for my MD/GPU.

I have tried to find a way to reduce the quality or size of the recordings and see if the stopping... stops, but I don't know enough about Mythtv yet to risk the possibility of breaking something I can't fix. And I don't want to go through the trouble if someone else already knows the problem or found a solution.

Any ideas? Anyone else notice the choppy/stopping video?

Users / MythTV - 4 simultaneous encoders from 2 tuners (hdhomerun)!
« on: December 07, 2009, 06:36:38 pm »
I was mucking around with Mythtv, and broke it. In my efforts to fix what I did, I now have 4 encoders from a single hdhomerun box. I had thought I screwed it up again, but was curious and set 4 shows to record. All 4 shows recorded successfully. Needless to say I was thrilled. I did a bit of research and found that mythtv can take advantage of multiplexing.

Has anyone else noticed or taken advantage of this. And shouldn't LinuxMCE set up multiplex when installed?

Installation issues / Speak in house not working after 810b2?
« on: December 07, 2009, 04:02:19 am »
I tried 998 to speak in the house, but received a message that it is not a valid conference number. I also tried to speak to the person in the house from the alarm IVR menu, and received the same invalid conference message.

Installation issues / Beta2 screwed up the video on all of my MDs
« on: December 03, 2009, 03:48:14 am »
When I upgraded, I got an error that the MD could not initialize opengl. I went ahead and did a clean install, and now during the video setup, any video res over 640x480 is screwed up. When the MD comes up I still get the openGL error.

 I have the Nvidia 7200 low profile cards.

Is the Nvidia 7200 no longer supported with beta2? Anyone have a clue what I could try, I have been working on it for days. My whole system is useless right now.

And idea or desire to use ZFS and RAIDZ on the core? Would it cause any problems?
