thanks a lot, but I would like to use ui2 anyway so it would not be worth the effort...maybe it's an option if nobody comes up with a solution for ui2.
the thing which I don't understand is, why did it work so well in 7.10 and now it doesn't.

no luck on my side as well...
ui1 is running for some minutes but then suddenly the screen turns black and thats it.

you absolutely NEED 2 nics!

this is your problem!
do some research on the wiki pages, it's meant to have 2 nics - one is connected to a external network (internet) and the other nic to your internal linuxmce network...
200  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Cisco 7970 and Error Message on: January 10, 2010, 06:52:29 pm
your core has 2 nics right?
201  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Cisco 7970 and Error Message on: January 10, 2010, 06:37:25 pm
are you now in the right subnet (internal network) ? do other devices get the proper ip from the dhcp server?
202  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Cisco 7970 and Error Message on: January 09, 2010, 11:16:59 pm
I have problems with the 7970 as well, but I believe it's a problem with freepbx. It says: Failed to connect to the Asterisk manager through port: 5038(retrieve_conf.FATAL)

Do you have the same error?

the intel drivers were working in 7.10, weren't they? so what's the difference now and aren't a punch of people have it working properly in 8.10 with ui2? (call for EEE users!)
204  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: eee box 202 8.10 beta2 on: December 20, 2009, 02:35:48 pm
I now made a new clean netinstall (with all new updates) on the core, but still have no success getting the EEE box running as a MD. same CIVS errors again :-(
205  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: eee box 202 8.10 beta2 on: December 10, 2009, 04:29:10 pm
mine neather! it worked for some minutes with ui2 but after a reboot same problem as before... same shitty error message.

I believe here are a view EEE users, are we the only two guys who get this error?

Has anybody any idea where to start?

thanks

hey pedplar,
I don't know if you got it already working but I did so today(at least some kind of). UI2 is working for me at 800x600 with 65HZ (not 60 as default) . It's not perfect and I don't know if it's working for you as well, but it's at least something to work with...

the UI2 issue, I get the same error: CIFS VFS: Write2 ret -12, wrote 0

to add: last time i tried again and suddenly AVWizard came on. I tried to complete it, but in the middle of the process the screens turned black...

if that is all you want, take a look at mythbuntu for example!

210  LinuxMCE / Users / boot Asus EEE box in beta 8.10 on: November 29, 2009, 09:04:47 pm
Hi,

I'm running a beta 8.10 install and I'm trying to netboot a Asus EEE box 202 as MD. The r8168.ko linked at the wikipage doesn't seem to work (due to new kernel?) and I was not successful by hacking the Realtek driver by myself. Could anybody provide a working r8168.ko or is the old one working on other installs?

thanks a lot
