it should be enough to do a: sudo /opt/owfs/bin/owfs /dev/ttyUSB0 --allow_other -C -m /home/user/1-wire

in my case this will actually mount owfs to the 1-wire directory (showing bus.0, settings, ...) but no sensor is showing up...

i see the interface in lsusb and dmesg as well.
139  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: 1wire support on: February 23, 2011, 10:18:39 pm
ok so you can see the sensors if you mount owfs to a directory, right?

I will try to find a windows pc to check if the hardware works...(could take some time -> who uses windows nowadays? lol)

thanks

Hey guys,

I finally got an 1-wire interface and want to know if anybody was able to get it running so far?
I get no errors during install but when I start OneWire I get:

DEFAULT: owlib.c:LibStart(54) No valid 1-wire buses found
Segmentation fault

also if I try to mount owfs to a directory I can't see my sensor in it and it says:
job-working-directory: error retrieving current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent directories: No such file or directory

any ideas?

just to add as an info: PAE would give access to up to 64gb ram but there is a limit at 4gb per process (not that this would be a problem for lmce)

yes, look at this and you will understand why: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Network_Setup

143  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Webpad not able to log onto web-admin on: February 01, 2011, 04:37:25 pm
why is nobody following the most important rule: install 2 networkcards!

problems are popping up like every second day in here due to that fact but still nobody is listening...why?

btw. are you using opera mobile to connect?
144  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: bittorrent wine installation problem on: January 23, 2011, 10:32:30 pm
I don't have torrentflux running on my setup as I don't need it, but I have tested it a while ago. Following the wiki is always a good idea...
As I remember there was a plugin for firefox which would automatically send torrenddownload requests to a server (the core).

Torrentflux will always be running if you start it by the startup scripts.
Torrentflux has a webpage for add and monitor torrents.
I'm quite shure you can specifie the download path as well.

Iīm sorry I canīt remember exactly what I did but this guide helped and I believe I did not install php5 and not shure about the python thing...

I guess as long as there are no packages in the database we need to install owfs manually, right?
149  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: 1wire support on: January 19, 2011, 04:18:16 pm
good job, thanks Hari!
150  LinuxMCE / Users / Re: X10 devices from US different to European? on: January 16, 2011, 09:35:03 am
thanks hari, in this case I won't get the 16CUX10.
The arduino thing looks very promising, I will have a closer look on that - maybe I can make it working with X10.
Also the AET is interesting but you can't find a lot info on their website...
