I had the same problem ones.
I think I got it fixed by re-scaning my data from the webmin.
Have you tried that?

After an update from 0.22 to 0.23, i have this problem on the MD's.

Code: [Select]

root@moon130:~# apt-get dist-upgrade
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Calculating upgrade... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
1 not fully installed or removed.
After this operation, 0B of additional disk space will be used.
Do you want to continue [Y/n]?
Setting up mythtv-database (0.23-0.1) ...
Failed to execute SQL: GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON mythconverg.* TO mythtv@localhost IDENTIFIED BY '3zRkyO86'\nAccess denied for user 'root'@'' to database 'mythconverg' at -e line 8, <> line 1.
dpkg: error processing mythtv-database (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 255
Errors were encountered while processing:
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Is there a solution ?
Remove and reinstall Mythtv on the MD's don't resolve this.

I had this problem to.
I had to rebuild my system and that is not really the nice thing..
So what you can do is try to rebuild the MD image. From the Webmin
this will take some time but could you please try it so we can see if this is a work around.

Users / Re: recent update/upgrade keeps rebuilding the kernel

Yes I have the same thing in my core.
I have just rebuild my system with the latest snapshot and it is like in a loop.
I have done it about 4 time now, update - reboot and look and it want to do it again.
Not sure why

I just want to confirm the new mythtv version is ok, I removed the following lines from "/etc/apt/preferences" on Core & Mds
Code: [Select]
Package: mythtv mythtv-frontend mythtv-backend mythtv-common mythtv-database mythtv-transcode-utils mythweb libmyth-perl
Pin: version 2:0.22*
Pin-Priority: 1001
Then run apt-get update & apt-get dist-upgrade, and my new version is
Code: [Select]
mythtv-backend = 0.23-0.1
mythtv-common = 0.23-0.1
mythtv-database = 0.23-0.1
mythtv-doc = 0.23-0.1
mythtv-frontend = 0.23-0.1
mythweb = 0.23-0.0

Jipp that looks good.

Did you remove your pinnning?
under /etc/apt/ there is a preferences file. If you open that is there anything about myth in there?
If there is remove it and the update and dis-upgrade.
See if that worked.

Hi Mandingo, thx for the info.
Which myth packages shall be updated?
I had the preferences file in /etc/apt (for 0.22) and removed this preferences file.
After an apt-get update and apt-get upgrade, no packages were upgraded, only the pluto-myth.
Is there anything else that should be upgraded?

I found the same thing..
However when I did a "apt-get dist-upgrade" it did pull down the myth packages.
Due to the version rename your system that it is downgrading from 22 to 23..
I just said yes and it was happy to install.
I ran into a DB problem that was fixed. Just follow this link.
Hope this helps

Users / Re: PIAF - PBX in a Flash
« on: May 20, 2010, 04:54:25 am »

I am new to LinuxMCE and looking forward to working with it.  I currently have PBX in a Flash (Asterisk + FreePBX + MySQL + Webmin +.......) installed and running.  I would like to know if it is possible to combine PIAF with LinuxMCE?  Would it be a major hurdle?

I could keep them separate and pass calls back and forth between using SIP, but that could get ugly or break a few things.

Why Not use the build in Asterisk?
Thom has done great work with it..

Well it seems your wows will be over soon, i am almost done with integrating mythtv .23 and some new DVB cards into the system
if you havent posted your card info in the other thread i have about DVB cards then do so

Is there anything I can help with to get myth 0.23 in the repo?
I was told this will fix a lot of my problems to.

If Avenard has dropped support then I think you either need to wait for the 0.23 to be packaged for 0810 or you will have to build your own from sources.

Hi Andrew

Is there any indication at when 0.23 will be packaged in 0810?

One of the limitations of the Ion GPU is that it does not do full h.264 h.264 will always use more processor than when using other more capable nVidia GPU's.

Hi Andrew

that is alright, I am hoping that the Myth upgrade would make it a bit of a better experience as what it is currently. The 330 ION that I have is cool and they only do this so I should be ok. Now I just need to get my hand on this upgrades..
any ideas where I can get the packages?

Well All my MD's uses the new ION nvidia. and they all have that problem.. I think maybe cause the homerun is a network device it put bit more resources on the process. I hope Mandingo can let us know when we can test it.
I would love to get my hands on it soon.
