Great, thanks for that.
I've been keeping an eye on www.silicondust.com, but that still says coming soon.

Hi Everyone,

Not sure if this is possible, but would be a nice feature.

I would like to be able to play a video in one room & use the follow me to play in some/all other rooms, including to audio only devices, like the Squeezebox.
Would it be possible to send just the audio stream from the video to these devices?

Regards,
Josh

Ian,
For a softphone that works well, try Zoiper (www.zoiper.com)
It does IAX as well as SIP, so you don't have firewall issues.

Thaks Thom, I will have a look there.

Ian, it's not how to configure Asterisk I'm having trouble with, it's LMCE integration & trying to decipher Pluto's dial plan. But thanks for the link, others may find it useful.

Josh

Developers / Any Asterisk Info?
« on: February 08, 2009, 01:43:29 am »
Hi Everyone,
Because I have no programming experience, I was hoping to play to my strengths & have a play with the Asterisk side of things.
I've been reading through the configuration trying to get my head around it, but I'm having a bit of trouble working out what the hell is going on!
Is there any documentation around that you guys could point me to, or did Pluto just hand it over, hoping that you would never have to decipher it?

Regards,
Josh

Hopefully the improved hardware support in 8.10 will fix that

I have been playing with it for several months now in a test environment & am loving it.
Broken & reinstalled more time than I care to think  ;D but thats what testing is!

I'm not going to jump in straight away, I just wanted to harvest those big minds of yours for some knowledge & to see if anyone had tried simillar.

Hello,

I'm about to implement a LinuxMCE setup in my home.
It will be replacing my existing firewall & phone system, so I thought, why cant it replace my existing M$ server as well.

I would like to set it up to be:
- Mail server with web interface, IMAP support, etc.
- Wiki server & web server (with host header routing)
- LDAP authentication
- File / print server
& basically anything else I can think of I might need.

Could any one tell me if it can be done safely & if any of these will cause problems (& maybe even suggest some good programs to fulfill these needs  ;D )

Regards,
Josh

Developers / My Developer Appreciation Thread
« on: November 09, 2008, 08:08:36 am »
First off, I would like to say congratulations to the developers of this project, you are doing a fantastic job & from what I have read so far on these forums, you are not getting the recognition you all deserve.

I first looked at this a few years ago when it was still in Pluto's hands, I recently found this & fell in love with it all over again.

I would be keen to help out with the project, but have Zero programming experience. I do have quite a bit of experience with Asterisk systems, so if I can help anyone here let me know.

Again, kudos to you all & keep up the good work!

Regards,
Josh
