Installation issues / 810 setup - repository errors
« on: September 09, 2009, 08:05:49 am »
Hello Everyone,
I've been trying to set up 2 810 cores, but during the script it gets package errors.

First it has trouble when fetching sources:
W: Failed to fetch  500 Server reports illegal range

Err intrepid-updates/restricted Translation-en_AU Could not connect to localhost:3142 ( - connect (111 Connection refused)

W: Failed to fetch Could not connect to localhost:3142 ( - connect (111 connection refused)

W: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

These are just an example, there same error is coming up on a dozen different ones & obviously the packages the script tries to install fails.
It also does it on a manual apt-get dist-upgrade, but only after running the pre-install-from-repo script the first time.

Any Ideas?

If I had the slikks I wouldn't have bothered to post it here.

I just figured with several people around currently making changes to orbiter at the moment, I might suggest it in the hope someone likes the idea & includes it.

yes, but that adds an extra step, being able to identify the particular device from the orbiter is quicker & you get it right the first time, so a trip to the web admin isn't required.

Hi All,

On the orbiter when you get the New P&P device detected screen, would it be possible to have the detected MAC address sown there as well, to make it easier to identify which device has actually been detected.
I find that I get devices detected that don't seem to match anything in the list shown, or I have several devices of the same model I need to differentiate between.

- Post missed calls & voicemails
- Post intrusion detection message with pic from camera
- Control HA with IM text commands

I'm sure I can think of more...

Users / Re: Call for donations for features.

I would gladly donate for:

- PNP support of the new HDHomeRun DBV-T
- (I know its a big job, but) Asterisk upgrade to 1.6 & a later supported FreePBX
This will be handy if anyone will be buying any new models of Digium boards, as they will only be supported with the new DAHDI (Zaptel Replacement) drivers

How would you go about adding it to the IVR?

It could be manually added into your dialplan, but you would need to get it into the IVR menu, im not sure how you would do that without breaking it.

The details can be found here:

The feature you are looking for is DISA (Direct Inward System Access) which allows you to rin in, enter a pin & get an internal dialtone.
It is normally a module in FreePBX, but doesn't seem to be available in the version currently in LinuxMCE.

PS. Nice to see another fellow Aussie here!

A lot of new mobiles lately have SIP clients built in, that you can set up as an extension in asterisk.
When you make calls, you can choose if you wish to make call via mobile or Asterisk, though for that you need Wifi or 3G internet connection.

Gizmo5 also offers the ability to ring Skype contacts, maybe this would appease some of the people that have been asking how to use skype with LMCE.

Installation issues / Re: Sangoma VOIP card install / Asterisk

That would be a huge job.

Most of the commands & a lot of the dialplan setup has changed, every piece in LMCE relating to asterisk would need to be rewritten.
I looked at doing it, but my skills are woefully inadequate for the job & I think the devs have plenty on their plate already.

Hello Cramer,

You will not find dahdi drivers on this system, they are only in the latest version of asteris (v1.6) which LMCE does not use.

I could not find the zaptel source in LMCE for you, you will most likely have to download & compile the zaptel source yourself.
Once that is done, point your sangoma install to the directory you unzipepd the zaptel source to.

I use 810 with VMWare ESX server & networking works fine.

Try installing VMWare tools so you get the correct drivers for the virtual NIC.

It's probably more useful for those that still have windows PCs on the network, so can log into all with same user/password & don't have to authenticate again to access LMCE shares.
