4  LinuxMCE / Users / Moning into new house on: September 23, 2011, 04:24:35 pm
 Roll Eyes

I'll be moving into our new house and so all my media equipment as well...  may a while before I
have time and money to setup properly..

I may also rework my lmce system as well since my core/hybrid died and have to rebuild...

I may end up with a true core system with 2x MD's

I will change it in user setups when It evolves

8  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Random reload regen + gyration 301 on: September 14, 2011, 07:57:30 pm
did a clean install of 810 final

most everything went well  noticed a couple this...

#1
I am having alot of gen/reloads at random...
( This may be do to MotionWrapper = running one anolog camera+foscam clone+linksys ip cams )

camera's seem to work properly but i noticed if i remove motionwrapper and cams the regen/reloads stop

#2 I have two gryration 301 mce remotes.....back in beta they where detected and installed and basicly all buttons funtioned properly..  now in final basicly the mouse gest buttons work.

thought you would like to know...

my hdhomerun, and NAS's where found and working properly so far...  and the interface seems faster by a bit

let me know if any had this issue as well

10  LinuxMCE / Users / SSD Is it worth the money? on: August 20, 2011, 03:51:23 pm
Looking at a 32GB ssd SATA 2 drive for the new core's operating drive... currenty have std sata2 500gb

Most of my media is on NAS drives
questions:

  • Will it be big enough for the install?
  • Any true speed difference -vs- hdd?
11  LinuxMCE / Developers / Re: 2nd display as Touchscreen on: August 14, 2011, 01:05:37 am
The main problem is that android has far and few tabletop -and- wall docks....

To buy a apple product is way far off budget..

the DT webpad looks promising

I could go for a cheap android tablet 7-10 inch
 -or-
run a dell axim with wince app.. witch i had a soo so operating axim 50v witch had wifi and a tabletop cradle and seemed to run ok for a interface..

On the most part...

#1 - getting a new house might put hybrid as a main interface with a 19" touch screen on wall in the
kitchen or attached area for main access.

#2 - pda -or- android tablet's for roaming orbiters per room or level..

#3 - rf/bt mini keyboard/touch mouse / gyration remote's as main control per media area's

the one thing is I use Firefox alot in my room and living room but it sounds like the orbitor keyboard/mouse input might get trashed "shame"
12  LinuxMCE / Developers / Re: 2nd display as Touchscreen on: May 21, 2011, 02:21:07 am
And yes I know a android would be a cheaper alt but I am wondering...  I have found no good Android tablet tabletop/wall
docks..
13  LinuxMCE / Developers / 2nd display as Touchscreen on: May 21, 2011, 02:19:11 am
Dual display output... eg

Tv = HDMI DVI  (no OSD )

Touch screen monitor (ELO) ect as OSD + Touchscreen...  (vga/dvi)

Is this a possible?
14  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / camera snapahot on: May 07, 2011, 02:05:51 pm
