During my time with LMCE (over a year now) I have seen issues such as this pop up and most of the time they seem to be caused by:
1. the filesystem of the media drive
2. bad hard drive
3. bad network hardware cables, connections, routers etc

I don't recall one single instance where LMCE software was actually the cause of the problem.

I just wanted to say that I haven't had a chance to take a look at what ebox can offer us, but I think its a cool idea none the less.... Im sure there are lots of other connections that can be made with other software and its developers that could really benefit LMCE, and I hope to see some of these come to fruition.

Hari has done all of the work so far, i think the rest of us either don't know how to finish it up or don't have the time. Hop on the developer channel in IRC and Hari ask some questions, or wait till Hari responds in this thread.

he full collection of orbiters (710) can be downloaded from
I can verify that the 710 XP orbiter works fine with 810b2

Did you update from alpha/beta to beta2, or is it a fresh DVD install of beta2? I ask because I had the exact same problem when i took the upgrade path, and i just ended up doing a fresh install of beta2 from DVD.

did you upgrade to beta2 from beta, or is this a fresh beta2 install from DVD?

I would be willing to test this out on my system if the process isn't to difficult for me to undertake.
Let me know.

Happened to me once, never happened again in the last week or so.

I have got the KDE error with every install of both beta and beta2, but LMCE has never seemed to be affected by the error and upon reboot everything seems to work fine.

I just dropped my price $100 from $450 to $350, really want to move this fast as I have some other projects I am dying to get into.

I've added temp readouts recently, the proper events should be sent now. Did anybody test the latest version on 0810?

Hari, I've got one of my Wayne Daltons set to Celsius and bound to my Z-Wave mesh and LinuxMCE recognizes it properly as a standard thermostat.  I've tested the My Scenario buttons and they all command the thermostat properly and it responds as requested.  However, the scenario buttons for +1 and -1 degree fail and both set the thermostat immediatley to 2.0C when pressed.

Also, the Climate Floorplan never shows a change, it shows the thermostat at On/Cool (25) no matter what the setting or the thermostat is really set for or currently reading.  Is the floorplan display and functions still not finished?

I know that Hari told me at one point that only absolute values have been programmed at this point ie: 23, 42, 12. relative values have not yet been implemented, +1, -1 etc.

Hari has done some work on the zwave driver for the thermostat and it can be turned on/off, switched between heat/cool, and you can set it to an absolute temperature (for temp adjustment the thermostat must be in Celsius mode, and the temp sent must be in Celsius). Hari has no desire to do the work to convert from C to F as he is in Europe and doesn't need it. SO, long story short... the ground work has been laid and currently the thermostat is partially functional, all we need now is someone with some programming experience to step up and tie up the loose ends. Unfortunately no one as of yet has been able to tackle this project.

Yes, just to clarify since I received some PM's... this is a package deal with 3 pc's + monitor + 24 port switch. Only the core PC comes with mouse and keyboard.

I am selling the system that I currently run as my test system, I have no need for it now that 810 is treating me well. So if you are looking for an easy way to get three rooms up and running with minimal work.... here it is. I also have a Dell 24 port switch that I am throwing in just for the hell of it.

It consists of a Dell desktop for the core.

    Dual 3.0ghz p4 processor
1gb of RAM (with 4 total slots to upgrade)
    DVD Rom
    2 PCI slots
    1 PCI express slot
1 small slot (with network card for internal network included)
    1 serial port
    8 usb 2.0
    100/1000 internal NIC
    80gb hard drive
I have been using this as a hybrid core and it is capable of playing 720 and 1080 HD

2 SFF (small form factor) IBM media directors (roughly the same size as a xbox 360 laying on its side)

    2.8 ghz p4 processor
512mb RAM (sufficient for everything I threw at it)
    6 usb ports
    2 serial ports
    2 PCI slots

1 Dell 19" LCD screen VGA and DVD inputs.
Keyboard and optical mouse included.

I have had this system up and running with 710 and 810 LinuxMCE with no issues, both the core and MD's are plug and play (no configuration to get LinuxMCE up and running). It is a cheap and very capable way to get into LinuxMCE. PM me if you need any details.
Both the core and the MDs will run UI1 with no issues, for UI2 you will need a nvidia video card.
** all three pc's have windows XP COA if you choose to go that route.
