« on: October 31, 2010, 09:20:39 am »
upon a reinstall of LinuxMCE i install Hulu, after a restart and a complete regen Hulu reports there is no flash so i follow the wiki http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Installing_Flash there download link did not work only flash 10 is available from adobe, so i tried the wiki with flash 10 but it did not work.

This fixed my flash problem on my Media Director on my amd 64 system, nice! thanks!

rperre, i'm getting the same thing looks like bug is still there.  I've copied dvd's to specific user folders (like FamilyGuy) on my nas so when I go to view that media it should prompt me for a pin, but it still shows for all of my users.  :-[

Hmm I had this problem and did :
Code: [Select]
wget http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_10_linux.deb
dpkg -i install_flash_player_10_linux.deb
rm install_flash_player_10_linux.deb
and Hulu works now

Tred, you're AWESOME!  I was having problems with flash in general and your fix worked.  I tried doing the search for the flashplugin like Riggs and had the same result.  This was my second install in 2 days and I've had problems with 710 and flash too.   Everythings good now thanks again.  Much thanks to those who put their heart into the development, its getting better and better, Thanks!

Not seeing mythTV in computing is a bug, it is being worked on, or already squashed.

wondering if this is still an issue?  I did an update last night but didnt seem to take.

Users / Re: Grey screen on MD
« on: June 12, 2010, 06:50:01 pm »

Thanks for the replies guys.

It didn't work at first, for some reason I had to fully reboot the core before I could regen the orbiter (it just wouldn't respond in the web interface, nothing happened when I clicked the button, I waited 20 minutes and the MD still had the grey screen on boot). After a reboot of the core it has worked though.

However I now have a new problem - no media showing in the orbiter. It just shows the media button but if you hover over or click on it no menu appears. All the other menus lights/climate/security etc. look fine and I can see the sample photos in the background of the UI, but have no access to my media. All the media is accessible from the hybrid/core UI fine. Any ideas?

thanks

I'm having the same issue on a regular basis.  If try and come back from kde desktop or regen orbiter I get one of two instances: 1) grey screen with mouse pointer and no ui; 2) ui screensaver but no ui menu's.  The only way i've found for me to get out of this is go to cli & reboot, which sucks.

This is on a new build where I had no install problems.  The hardware for hybrid is recommended hw from the wiki that I used in 710 install.  Video is 6200 nvidia using UI2 opengl which works, but somewhere along the line i lose ui menu's.  Any input is appreciated.

Users / Re: SOLVED :: Flash player not working in MCE - Fine in KDE
« on: January 21, 2010, 04:23:14 pm »
can anyone confirm (devs?) if i remove flashplugin-nonfree that its not going to break my lmce (orbiters?).  I'm at a stopping point with getting flash sites to work in both kde & mce enviroment.

Code: [Select]
linuxmce@dcerouter:~$ sudo apt-get remove flashplugin-nonfree
[sudo] password for linuxmce:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
  pluto-mcr-remote pluto-libresolution pluto-hal-device-finder pluto-avwizard
  pluto-avwizard-skin-basic pluto-x-scripts
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
The following packages will be REMOVED:
 flashplugin-nonfree pluto-nvidia-video-drivers pluto-orbiter
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 3 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 0B of archives.
After unpacking 82.3MB disk space will be freed.

Thanks, Chris!

Installation issues / Re: diskless setup failed

Copy PlutoMD-i386.tar.bz2 from an i386 install DVD (or .iso) to /usr/pluto/install on the core, then delete the MD from the web-admin (if there is one) and start over.  That should do the trick.

Thank you for your reply......it was very useful......I got beyond the previous error and now at the very end of the MD boot process when the AV wizard is supposed to start, I get the following error message -

AV Wizard

Failed to setup X

     OK

Any ideas on how to resolve this one?

Thanks Speedyone  :)

I got a little further along.....I installed NVIDIA driver 180.51 and I almost get booted. But at the very
end, in the launch manager, it gets stuck on "activating orbiter".

Any further ideas?

I have the same situation, can you point me in the right direction on how-to change the nvidia driver?  I'd like to do the same, thanks.

whats the verdict on this one then?  i select the "enable" button (remote assistance) on admin site but the process never finishes & port is never opened.  i'm sure there's a way to do it but i dont want to break anything in the process by forcing it.  i'm trying to ssh tunnel for access to dcerouter but if there's a recommeded method i'm open to it.  Thanks in advance!  ;)
