Is this anything to do with why I am not getting a sharp image on my 1024x600 tablet?
I could be wrong, but did you try creating a new resolution/orbiter size?

Hey Newguy2,
I had a similar problem and had to disable compatibility mode under settings > Spare parts Not sure if it will help you though!
Cheers Slampt
that's what i did, i guess i made it sound like spare parts didn't work, but it did. i just wanted to give anyone else who may run into the same problem a heads up. thanks though.

You may have to change some settings on your tablet. The top menubar takes up some of your display size, so your tablet may be shrinking orbiter to fit. IE if your screen size is 800x600 and the menu bar is 800x20 your true resolution is 800x580. There are settings to hide the menu bar. Not sure if this is your issue, just a suggestion.
Kyfalcon, thanks for trying to help, but it actually has to do with the entries in the manifest when the app was developed. I found an app named "spare parts" in the android market. For those who may encounter the same issue, just download the app, find and deselect an option named "compatibility mode". Reboot. The spare parts app as well as the android orbiter should fill the screen after reboot. What I am actually using for and orbiter is my phone, a HTC EVO 3D. it has a larger screen than the usual cell phone. thanks.

Ok, I added a new resolution and a new orbiter size successfully, but the same issue still exists. No matter what orbiter size I choose it does not fill the screen of my evo 3d. I can see changes in the orbiter, but it does not increase the size of the orbiter beyond a certain size. So it just sits in the middle of the screen. any suggestions?

Fellas, I'm using the android orbiter on a HTC EVO 3D which has a resolution of 540x960 on a 4.3" screen. Unfortunately, I have tried various orbiter sizes and none has filled the whole screen. I can make it get smaller with sizes such as the windows mobile selection. But getting it to fit the entire screen, rather than sit in the middle of the screen has been impossible. I used this orbiter on my HTC Hero when i had it, and it filled the screen fine, i assume because it was a smaller screen. Any size orbiter i select above 320x480 comes out the same size. any hints?

Gentlemen, being that I am clueless in regards to this, I have a question for your brilliant minds. What is the feasibility of using GPS for proximity detection. Taking into consideration the conflicts that arise from using multiple Bluetooth dongles in close proximity, would GPS be more usable in terms of location accuracy? Perhaps entering a predetermined GPS area can trigger commands from a cell phone Orbiter to lmce? I was wondering this for a while, but I never was going to ask until I came upon several android apps such as tasked and automatit that does this, but i don't know if it would be possible or useful for lmce?

LinuxMCE / Users / Re: sharp aquos auto detect *solved*

How did you get it going? Any details?
It was mainly a cable issue like tkmedia and purps suggested. I had to splice two cable,s but it was still not autodetected so i did it manually in the admin site. Unfortunately I'm not getting a consistent response from my aqous from lmce. If i select "OFF" in the orbiter power menu, it will shut off, but turning it back is not always possible via the orbiter. Also if I turn the LCD off and select LCD or Video, it does not turn the LCD on like it is suppose to. reloading router solves it somewhat until i select a media scenario or something again. In addition to that, i haven't put too much time into figuring out a solution as yet, but I have a DirectTV box connected directly to another input on the aqous and tried adding it as another Satellite box that had a template but it does not change the inputs to the correct input upon pressing the scenario like i wanted. If someone can help me out with these issues, i'll appreciate you help again. thanks.

Make sure you are using a null modem cable/adapter (cross over cable).
Tim
thanks Tim, i assume by your response that it should work plug-n-play and they there haven't been any problems in the latest 8.10 regarding the plug-N-play. I have tried two different cables. any specific cable/adapter that i can look for? thanks

good day gentlemen, I'm just getting around to having one of my MD's control my sharp Aquos LC46D64U which is stated as plug-n-play. I plugged in a Dynex DX-UBDB9 (tried another cable i bought off ebay) but something doesn't want to play. The detection script runs, but no joy. Before i dig in, any thing i should look for? thanks

I had the same issue about a month ago, never really tried to to bug anybody on here to resolve because i assumed it was something that would be worked out in a later alpha.

I didn't try to troubleshooting this with the devs because at this time I don't have the alarm pannel installed.
Hernan
Panel came with the house, so i am good on that part, im just waiting to see whether i need to go 5401 or go it-100. there are a couple of plugins for homeseer for both, so its feasible. i'm just wondering if the existing template for the 5401 can be tweeked to a working status.

I already have a PC5401 but I'm not ready yet to connect my linuxmce box to the alarm system. I'm just making my grocery list to make sure I don't miss nothing when I'm ready to do it.
I will try with the 5401 and see the results. If there are issues, I've done programmation in the past so I might be able to figure it out and pass the information back to linuxmce to make sure the changes make it in the distribution.
If I'm not happen with the 5401, I will resale it and order a DCS IT 100. On DSC's web site for the IT 100 it says : Real-time zone status . I'm not sure if the 5401 can provide that information. In the 5401, there's a command to get the status of each zone. I'm thinking the IT 100 maybe outputs the data to the serial port each time there's a zone tripped regardless if the system is armed or not. I'm not 100% positive but I wish someone could guide us...
Thank you all, PB
ok thanks, keep me posted, im going to hold off on buying either the it-100 or the 5401 until i hear your results with the 5401
