nothing can bring down a LinuxMCE VAX cluster... not even ringing the door bell, watching TV, using the toilet and answering calls at the same time..

You have a TV and A Phone in your Bathroom ---- SWEET  ;D

That's nothing! I have a webcam in mine. ::)

Now that's just too much information lol  ;D

Users / anybody else ever have this issue?

I bought a hvr1600, I assume the atsc tuner should show up in the myth card setup as a separate tuner, should I add it by adding it as a separate card? Again has anybody run into this problem?

Is Cable an option for you?  Switching from DirecTV to cable and eliminating the set to boxes is the best thing I did for my LinuxMCE setup.

I currently have cable through my HOA, which does not allow other cable companies in the community. The cable company only offers a limited number of channels. To get the few other channel packages they offer u have to pay an arm and 3 legs. It would work out a lot cheaper for me to go with dish network and I would get a lot more channels, thanks for the suggestion though.

The problem is that external STB's may have two tuners but they can still only output the signal from one of those tuners at any time - you would need 4 dual tuner STB's to deliver the capability you describe I'm afraid.

Some Dish Network dual tuner DVRs (such as vip722, vip722k, etc) support "two rooms" and therefore, have two video outputs.  Not sure if you will be able two control two separate "rooms" with IR, though.  Typically TV2 responds to the RF remote.  I have successfully used two RF remotes before, but not two IR remotes. o Maybe setting different addresses for each is sufficient, but I've never tried it.

the VIP722's with dual tuners are what I was looking at, what I'm trying to find is the best card to get to  facilitate the use of two dual tuner VIP722's?

I have 5 bedrooms, a loft and a family room, so I wanted to start off with the ones that may be used simultaneously, which be 4 areas. With a dish tv dual tuner receiver, I can have all four areas covered with two receivers. The issue I'm wondering about is the number of core capture card inputs required. I only have two slots left on my board. Which card or solution should I go with? Sorry if this is a retarded question, but I might be missing something. Thanks

Which pvr or hvr would you guys suggest for multiple satellite receivers? I will probably go for 2  dish network receivers with dual tuners hooked up in my core/laundry room. Thanks

I wonder what it would take for it to be done automatically like in wmce?

Before moving on to lmce I was using windows mce, which used a snapshot still image of a scene in a movie as cover art rather than just the title like in lmce. Is possible to have the same rather than having to go to the admin and go through IMDb for multiple files?

I got the same problem, I got my KDE back however by installing kdebase-workspace-bin, but this is not the whole KDE package.
It also worked for me, thanks. It does not install all the packages like you said, but at least I can get to the desktop now.

Could it be a problem with the latest version of kde, think I read somewhere, that upgrading to the latest one is causing issues? U guys would probably know better than me how to revert back to the previous version and give it a try.

I did the dvd install and the Download install. Same result for both, other than the ability to install a md with a the download. Nothing seems to work on The md.

Hi, I keep getting "Could not start ksmserver. Check your installation"  when trying to open the kubuntu desktop. Reinstalled, tried apt-get etc, am I out of the loop? Is there something I can do?
