I still have no access when I type "\\" or "\\dcerouter" into a windows run dialog.

I have the feeling that there is some setting that I may be missing.  If it matters, I only have one nic but want to install a second if I can figure this out.  Please, I really don't want to go back to windows since Linux is completely new to me and a bit challenging.

But how do I get write access to that directory?  I've tried to copy items there, but each time I get denied.

How do I get write access to the /home dir and other places?  I'm trying to move around my files so they are visible in my MD.  Currently I have the root located on one partition and the /home on a second larger partition so that I can keep my files in case of a reload or other situation.  A second HD (sdb1) where all my media files are located that does not show up on in the MD.  Any ideas?

Installation issues / Re: DVD vs CD Installation

On the CD there is one file (mce-installer_2.0.1-1_i386.deb) and one folder (deb-cache)

I guess my biggest concern over DVD installation is redundancy of data with two hard drives.  If were to copy my music and videos to the HD with linux MCE, what directory would they go in?

Ok, I was able to install LMCE from the DVD, but find that I would prefer to use only a portion of my HD.  My problem is that the CD does not seem to launch or install anything close to how the wiki states it should.  First, the CD does not self launch from Kubuntu, and I can not right click and install as suggested by the wiki, and lastly I can not get it to launch from the terminal.

Any ideas?

Users / New to LinuxMCE

After fighting with Windows MCE 05 and VMC for a number of years, I decided to look around for a better product.  Boy, did I ever find it!  While overall it is simple and more pleasing that M$ crap, some things are a bit confusing to configure and use.

One area that I'm having a bit of a challenge with is logging into the LinuxMCE Admin page.  I've tried using the username and password that was created during the installation, as well as "linuxmce" and "1234" with no luck.  I've also tried to reset the password through the terminal as stated in the wiki.  Is there a default login that I can try?

Second area that I would like to work on, is my media library.  Currently it is all on a second hard drive that is NTFS formatted and linuxmce has not located all the music during a 48 hour period.  While all my videos have been found, my mp3's and flac's have not.

As I have read elsewhere, as well as noticed myself, the wiki needs continuous work.  If anyone can either point me to page that needs updating or suggest a new page that I can update with my trials and tribulations, I would be more than happy to get to work.

Thanks to all who have worked so hard on this OS, it is really amazing!
