Installation issues / Re: cant create an MD after latest update
« on: April 13, 2010, 06:57:18 pm »
Look at the folder /tftpboot/moon#/

for example, I have three MDs, they are all in the /tftpboot/xyz/ folders. where xyz is a numeral with the respective md number.
Also, after rerunning did you rebuild it from the gui? you may have to if you already had an MD and it got corrupt somehow.

Users / Xorg running at 99% CPU when the Fan is not working
« on: April 09, 2010, 07:11:12 pm »
So, I was able to replicate this twice in in a week.

The Nvidia card that I use has a fan on top of the heatsink. If I turn off (shutdown) the Core and restart it, the fan doesn't start up because it is just crappy and needs a nudge. And if the fan is not running, Xorg is running at 100% CPU utilization. If I blow into the fan and it starts to spin and starts cooling the adapter, the processor is back to normal. I am wondering if this is just purely heat related or if there is a fan speed sensor on the video card and it will turn off the GPU if the fan is not spinning. Odd, but just an FYI for others that are having high CPU utilization with Xorg.

I am running latest 8 beta.

Mine is working now. the problem turned out to be the fact that the motion sensors were too far off from the Aeon USB stick and were not able to transmit/receive the signals. All I did was to use a usb extension cable to connect the device and all of my door/window sensors started to fire events when I open/close them.

I cleared the config and re added the devices and did a download config. No need to do any association; that's what the stick does IMO when you press the blue key and associate the sensors to it

I have the exact same problem, were you able to resolve it? (associating the door/window sensors to the Aeon USB device)

I am on the same boat. Did you figure this out?

I have seen the weirdest things when it comes to video setup during the initial setup

So, try this... using a DVI to VGA adapter, connect a regular 25pin VGA cable to your monitor. I have had this problem several times, when the AVWizard runs, it defaults to the 1st port on the card and you have to use a regular analog VGA cable. So my option was to use an adapter that comes with most video cards and it works like a charm every time.

Which firmware version is the best for LMCE on the Cisco 7970 phone? On my phone, some of the orbiter screens look terrible especially when I am running mythtv, the channel info is practically unreadable.

Users / Re: RS232 & Sharp Aquos not working in LinuxMCE, Only Windows

Tortho, I had to recently rebuild my entire system and my Aquos TV did not get auto detected. I had to manually add it and specify the serial port in the webadmin. So I can confirm that autodetection sometimes doesn't work, it could be just my system thought. (I couldn't even locate the auto detect shell script anywhere)

Installation issues / Re: combination of x-10 and Z-wave

I am having a similar problem but I was able to isolate the problem to only when my MD is ON. So in the room where the MD is turned ON, the lights don't work. I turn the MD off and the lights work. This is the case with three different MDs. I am using CM11A and CM15. I eventually migrated everything from CM15 to CM11 and the problem still remains.

Do you have any MDs in the room with the lights?

Installation issues / Re: PSTN - Linksys-3102 Configuration problem.

What are you trying to do? You mention that you don't have any voip service and yet you are trying to configure broadvoice?

I have broadvoice service and I use LMCE asterisk/freepbx to access the SIP trunks. on the Inside network (or eth1 network) of the Core, I have a linksys ATA connected with two lines that have two extenstions, but in order to set that up, you only need very minimal configuration on the webadmin and dont' really have to mess with freepbx.
Could you please provide more details on what you are trying to accomplish, and I use the WAN port on the Linksys ATA to connect to the LMCE internal network.

Users / Re: apt-get tries to downgrade pacakges on MD

aha! I see what's going on.. on my core, the /usr/pluto/deb-cache folder has corrupt files. for example look at the last file, it has a '%' instead of a '.' and there are lots of files like this..

Code: [Select]
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root    641090 2009-11-29 08:12 zaptel-modules-2.6.27-14-generic_1.4.11~dfsg-2+2.6.27-14.41_i386.deb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root    641056 2009-11-29 08:12 zaptel-modules-2.6.27-15-generic_1.4.11~dfsg-2+2.6.27-15.43_i386.deb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root    641120 2010-03-04 18:14 zaptel-modules-2.6.27-17-generic_1%3a1.4.11~dfsg-2+2.6.27-17.45_i386.deb

Can I safely remove all the files from here? Will it download all new files when I rerun the /usr/pluto/bin/ ?

The second solution you offered worked. What does it do? Does it ignore the downloaded cache?
