Users / Turning off monitor when sending 'Halt MD'
« on: September 19, 2010, 02:25:14 pm »
When we click on 'Halt MD' button, is it possible to send a monitor/TV off command before we start with the MD shutdown/suspend process automatically?

Hi Paulo,
Would you please tell me which are the files that you have in your tftp folder for the phone so to load the firmware? (I am running an older version and would like to know what I need to do to get it to 8-5-4TH1-6) I downloaded the files from Cisco's web site along with the cop file. Do you have to rename the .cop file and how about the xml files, did you point it to the new software?
Thx,
Stallione.

Have you set the MD to use vdpau in web admin?

Yes, I have. What I am trying to play is HD Video (h.264 encoded) that I am encoding from my HD Camcorder using Cyberlink powerdirector v8. I tired various encoding options within the software and none of them are working. If I do a 1080i mpeg2 format, it works but obviously that is not ideal
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Stallione.

Are the stand alone media directors supposed to have mysql-server running? And mythtv-database running on them?
Thanks,

Hi,
I am having a very hard time getting smooth playback of HD Video on this mobo running as an MD. I have 512 MB shared DD2 800Mhz to the video card. The processor spikes up when playing 1080p or even 720p video, I tried various different encoding, but xine player spikes up the CPU usage and the video playback is not pretty. Any ideas on what can be done? I understand that xine doesn't use vdpau?
TIA.

The huge text on the screen is something that I am experiencing as well. But it is only on Samsung LCD TV. I had another MD connected to the same TV with similar results. Don't know what is the driving factor. On my ION board though, I still am having difficulty running HD 1080p video. I have dedicated 512 MB of shared mem (DDR2 800) to ION and even installed the latest drivers from Nvidia, but still the video is choppy. Are you experiencing similar HD video issues on your board?

Good Luck with your recovery. I can understand partially what you are going through. I am dealing with a long term injury on my left leg resulting from a motorcycle accident still going on after a year and a half. Had another surgery on May 22nd and am back on crutches.
On a lighter note, I blame LinuxMCE. It took over my life and I can't think about anything else including when I am driving or having sex :)

Hi sambuca,
Tested the new Picture_Viewer and it works like a charm! Thanks.
Please have it rolled up into the next build so others may be able to use it as well.

I have the same problem on my MD's after an update, it is due to the smb permissions on the Core. Do the following on the Core (downgrade samba install) and test.

Code: [Select]
apt-get install samba=2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3 samba-common=2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3  libsmbclient=2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3 libwbclient0=2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3  smbclient=2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3 smbfs=2:3.2
Code: [Select]

I tested it and ran into the same problem, I think the screen saver needs to be blanked out or splashed with a black screen when the picture viewer is started. Not sure if there is a ticket already open for it.

Wondering if anyone has figured out a fix for it till the next update?

wonder why this was added? perhaps to solve the smb permission issue? In any case, for people with a lot of video's and stuff, this command takes a long time to run and adds to the boot up time.
