Hey guys,

I do not expect much support on this version. Purpose is to help out dev. I tried to install 14.04 and DVD install snapshot 21Feb 2015.

Kubuntu install went fine but the system just reboots now. It never gave me AV wizard.
The monitor was conneced via VGA to the graphic Card. Nvidia Geforce GT430.

currently I am using a live image to provide some logs. I am not sure which logs would help but attaching some here. Let me know what to do from here.

OK, however my main question remains, how/where/what to connect so that Lmce atleast see it !!

Users / kind of newbiee Question on Security Panel
« on: December 16, 2014, 05:55:02 pm »
I basically had no other way to explain my question so I shot a video.

I have never used security feature under Lmce , so please advise/comment how to have lmce communicate with such a security system. The house is prewired with sensors and they all terminate on the board shown in Video. Rest the video will explain, Please take a look.

Thanks in advance.

Are you guys running/testing your installation 12.04 or 14.04 on SSD?
Is anyone using SSD for lmce?

Sorry to ask these questions, I am planning to collect hardwares this season(thanks giving sales) ;)

Just out of curiosity , I want to ask, Does your Core has sound card?

I had and odd experience with 10.04 where, my core did not have soundcard hence some ALSA packages were not installed on core leading to issues with sound on my MD !!

So true. So many decent hardwares are on sale around this time in US.
I just don't wanna piss off people here with listing many here.

Can we have a sub category for hardware on forum?
or is it too much to ask ?

I have used Logitech Mini for years with Linuxmce. Great little device. Looks cool and does the job well.

Users / Odd request ; for a youtube tutorial !!
« on: October 25, 2014, 06:00:59 pm »
Hello Everyone,

I would appreciate if someone who already has setup for a z-wave control can make a youtube tutorial to show how its set up with Linuxmce? ie. may be temperature control, lighting control or whatever you may have.

I also request for a Tutorial for multizone audio setup? I have read posts but a youtube tutorial would be nice.

Well, I am still in favor of MD. reason being, I think MD can turn into a full Desktop if needed. Specifically latest intel NUCs has a lot of juice.
with properly supported SSD, MD can boot up much faster.

Not quite sure, I am still running the system with some obsolete hardware and the system is gettting pretty slow....... slower...... now,,,
I wonder how fast Rpi is getting the ui on screen?

Can you guys post a youtube video about your setup of Rpi ?

I would Stay with Linuxmce.
I have 80gb hard drive on which core/hybrid system installed.
I have another 1 TB hard drive formatted as xfs (I believe) (I dont remember) which is partitioned as LMCE directory structure. If needed I can just upgrade the towercase that can hold more drives. but I think, for now LMCE fulfills all needs for directing media with much less system requirements. (Except Mediatomb can be more user friendly :P)
If you need to reinstall LMCE that goes on 80gb but the media drive would be plug in play
As far as I understand, Core does not need more powerful system, its your MD needs all juice.

And that is pretty true,, as I run my core on old dell poweredge S420 with pentium single core processor with only 2 gb ram. and it works. except with slow orbiter regen :P
